Sure.

Right in the middle of all those tornadoes, many of them violent EF4s and EF5s is the town of Tanner, AL. Parts of it have been destroyed multiple times over the years. Not far from it is a major nuclear power plant.

We have got to shut it all down and move those people out. It must be done.

Slip it's their land. Do you want some govt a-hole telling you "we're taking your land and you have to move" ? Those folks have generations of sweat and blood invested in their land. I'm not about to tell them they have to move.

Do a little bit of research on the rebuild cost for some hurricanes and those tornadoes.

Having been an archaeologist, I have seen evidence of constant change. Seas rise and fall as do civilizations, even the ones that are flourishing. That sea levels will continue to rise in the next century is no longer a theoretical discussion; it is already happening. At this time, the only arguments are about the rate and upper extent. LA won't be the only state suffering- all the coasts in the US and the world will suffer, and yes even on the low-end of the estimates, hundreds of millions of people throughout the world will be displaced. Those who adapt to the changes best will be the ones who come out on top. Those who insist on fighting for the status quo will be left behind.

What are you going to do about Port Fourchon? Do you understand it’s role in the US Energy industry? If not, there might be a job for you in this administration

Didn't like half of what would be the territory of the United States covered under sea, a few million years ago? Seems cyclical if so.

An archaeologist looks at changes in civilization and humans over hundreds to thousands of years. A geologist looks at changes in the earth over millions to hundreds of millions of years. A common man thinks they have some control in the present and so they preach, legislate or regulate to keep the earth as it was say 100 or 500 years ago. It's folly as the earth laughs at us.

I think people are already saying that. Heck, look at the interviews of people from Cameron after Hurricane Laura. So many of them will not be returning. The ones that are have to fight back tears just to say they are going to rebuild.

Think about ancient Egypt. Did their civilization flourish because of the desert? No, it did because of the Nile, which is where they lived obviously.

Coastal communities in Louisiana will continue to shrink in population. It is inevitable. There may come a time when the state will consolidate parishes such as Cameron or Plaquemines entirely due to lack of population.

Subsidized flood insurance should end. I suggest letting everybody that has it now be able to keep it with the understanding that when a total claim is made no other subsidized flood insurance will be available for that property. Owners with total claims can pocket the money for their loss or they can build back without insurance.

This would solve the issues of development in those areas.

I am interested to see what happens to Houma in all of this. With the shift in O&G away from the GOM, I’ve wondered how Houma kept the population it did. Should be interesting to see what happens after the wallop it took.

Me, too. My in laws have always said they’d leave lower Terrebonne Parish after their parents died - it’s been over 10 years - they haven’t said anything yet -so I wonder if this is the last straw

When need to get those baws from Dubai to build a barrier island along the SE LA coast.

Some of those islands have already sunk back into the ocean. They’ve had to rebuild them and add to them to keep them above water.

I kind of chuckled on this. We had, what, two deaths, and it punched us right in the face.... they get rain from it and 25 people die.

....and we're the stupid ones.
