I've been several times, and it gets more depressing the more times you go.

Grew up a mile from there. Used to hike thru the woods to get there. Went a couple of years ago w my grandson, and it seemed to be still pretty nice. Not sure what happened to giraffes and elephants though.

I went about 15 years ago, and thought it had improved greatly since I had last been prior in the mid-80's. The three times I've gone since then it seems to get worse with each visit. First they lost the tiger or lion then the elephant. Audubon doesn't seem as good as it used to be either.

BREC wants to move it to South BR, but North BR folks are up in arms. Just one more thing that isn't in NBR anymore. Would be costly, but would get way more visits. Could it make up the $25 million cost to build? Who knows?

About 4 months ago with the grandson. I enjoyed the day with flask in back pocket.

My kids love the br zoo. Make a big loop. Get them little frickers some ice cream and what not by the petting zoo. Let them play on playground while I watch the Ole arse tortoise frick around with a bowl of lettuce and shite. Then get the frick. It's a great half-day cheap outing with kids.

Lived in Baton Rouge over five years now, never been.
Doesn't help that it's pretty much in Baker. Terrible terrible location.

Marketing bro. They are trying to get whitey to come back. If it doesn't work, yet another legit excuse to move it to South BR

Winter break of 2009. Me and my wife (gf at the time) went during a weekday to find something to do. We were literally the only people there. It was so bad, it was good.
