re: When Married Couples Build A House One Of Two Things Will Happen

Like any other stressful episode, building a house doesnt cause problems, but rather reveals the underlying problems that were already there.
If you have chosen a spouse wisely, building a house will be a very pleasant experience. The rough parts will only serve to strenghthen the marital bond.

We built a house over a year ago and now we've got a baby pretty sure they are completely unrelated.
Unless you are referring to us building a bigger house so we could have a bigger family.
I've been with my wife for 15 years and the most stressed we've ever been was during construction of the house.

What about murder? Surely that happens during your scenario as well.

I apologize I talk with people. When I say "friend" it doesn't always mean someone I hang out with all the time, etc. It someone I know, might not talk with or see on a regular basis, but if you think I randomly read an article and make up a thread then if that's what you want to believe then... Go ahead.. But I can tell you that this conversation happened during a card game this past weekend, Saturday night to be specific. It was 8 of us playing cards. We played a Texas Hold'em tournament then once we finished we played dealers choice for about an hour. We played several games, cadillac, King's little, I got it, Indian fever, varies forms of poker. Do you need me to list the names of the people I was with, which one told me this and where he worked in which he worked with contractors building homes?

I am still waiting. What information do you want me to give you? You are supposedly a contractor right? What is your take on this?

Don't marry a crazy, don't get divorced.

We have built 2 houses and are beginning the planning stage for our 3rd and "final". The first 2 went smotthly and I don't expect this one to differ. I pretty much let her pick out whatever she wants except the garage and back patio/kitchen are mine. I think both of us having the same taste helps and I can see where couples who may be complete opposite can have issues.

This is probably the best thing to do.

So the only other option is stay married but never have children. I'd say the odds are pretty good they get divorced or have kids. Your friend is an idiot.
Pretty good bet that married people that don't build houses end up divorced or having a kid, too.
I've seen it a hundred times.

Started building a house about 12 weeks ago. Wife is 10 weeks pregnant. Your friend is a goddamn seer.

I built a house 7 years ago... subcontracted everything myself. Had a kid about 3 years later... still married.

Yeah this is pretty dumb. I would think the majority of married couples build a house with the intentions of having kids and some of them get divorced. That is kind of what you do after getting married.

Re-wallpapering a house will end in divorce if the couple attempts to help each other!

We just had a baby 3 months ago and didn't build a house. I'm a fricking magician

No shite? Married couples have babies and/or get divorces? Got damn, that handi-man and the guy with the hardware store or certifiable geniuses.
