About 3.5 months in advance.

Around 6/7 weeks from you land. After that the price goes up. Or way in advance (many months ). but it doesn’t save you much.

Earlier than later. I had 2 tickets from Atlanta to Chicago for $800. I got distracted and 2 days later I paid $1,200.

As soon as you can afford it

Direct to orlando is $1200 for 2 in premium economy.
gots to plan ahead, shop around, and keep checking, fares fluctuate, my wife is the champion at this, we went to Europe for the Olympics a few months ago, three of us, first class, round trip was under eight grand

I read Tuesday mornings are the best day. But next Tuesday will be higher than Tuesday. But maybe that was day you fly out.
Side story. Needed a 1 way to st louis in July. Flying up and riding back with my sister and niece. Little vacation drive. 1 way was 300. I booked a sleeper on an amtrak for less. Yea its an 18 hour journey but ive never taken a train. Just had to burn an extra vacation day. Im kinda of excited but will most likely be let down.

Ideally, more than 2 weeks out

Yeah they knew you wanted the tickets by AI data gathering. There was uproar when Delta did this, but they didnt stop. And neither did the other airlines that followed suit

Flew Premium Economy to Sydney last month. Not that much more, more room and can recline a little farther. Business class was 3000.00 more. For 2 people, that's another vacation. I would do it again.

When is the flight? Do you think the price of oil is going to drop before then? If not book now. If it's far enough out that this Iran situation could be resolved then wait.

Today is today, and yesterday was today yesterday. Tomorrow will be today, tomorrow. So live today, so the future today will be as the past today, as it is tomorrow
