Nobody cares at any level, honestly.

I've known a couple kids that went on to play at LSU and other notable colleges. I feel great for the kid and their parents because I know the work, time, and money they all put in to get to where he/she was at the time.

Other than that, nobody truly cares. We all have lives to live.

Which we all know the wife used her husband's phone to post it.

I have a friend whose son has already won 3 or 4 WS rings in 8U this year

I'd say 80% of people are rooting for other kids to fail. So maybe work and accomplish quietly. Space book can be a great scrapbook, but I would keep it very private.

Shut up and just tell her in person. Why the need to broadcast it all over Facebook other than narcissism.

The same with bragging about your kid. Just tell the kid how proud you are. Very few people on Facebook GAF your kid made all-district and those people that do care are probably the grandparents who are a phone call away.

I often ponder how bizarre it all is. Its all so narcissistic. I generally just post my nature photos because people seem to enjoy them. But even that is a little narcissistic as I get enjoyment out of people enjoying my photos.

but, we all might as well accept it or get off of social media completely, because if you think that people in their 30s and 40s posting about their little shithead's travel ball accomplishments is over the top, just wait until today's kids, teens, and young adults get to that age. They are basically social media cyborgs and it ain't gonna get better.

Bragging on social media is the same as shouting in the public square. It's prideful and prevents us from practicing humility.

Why can't we just be proud of our kids....for our sake?

Also, nobody gives a shite.

this, I grew in a different time and lived in a hotbed of athletes, three NFL qbs within a three mile radius of our sand lot fields, kids on every block playing college ball, some went pro, I guess parents were more reluctant to brag about things like that (everyone knew it anyway,) when conversations likely would have been something like “my little Johnny just signed a scholarship with LSU, how’s your little Billy doing?” “last news we had he was pinned down in Hue City and they were running out of ammo”

usually when people are annoyed with others posting stuff like that....its out of insecurity or jealousy. they play it off as other stuff but it boils down to that

Wrong...people have been annoyed by others vanity since the beginning of time. Why do you think vanity is one of the seven deadly sins? It's annoying to everyone around you and social media just allows you to annoy more people faster.

I’m an a-hole for judging all the moms I see posting about their 12 year olds travel team every week.

The moms don’t know any better. It’s cute in a way

If y’all remember when they had the “city” Picayunes and then the regular times picayune… the “city” Picayune would have like all of the recreation department kids scores, and then the regular Times Picayune sports section would have the high school scores

Well seeing as it is MY Facebook, whenever I want is when it is acceptable.

Just don't follow what you don't want.

I live across the country from my family, and all of my aunts, great aunts, etc. comment and love the little league pictures etc.

Oh and whoever said their grandparents care when they are in highschool...my MIL comments on every picture of my 6 year old. She loves him. Her friends love him, they comment on his pictures. They send him pictures. Females eat this stuff up. Again Facebook isn't geared toward y'all. I don't understand why y'all come here complaining about it still. It makes no sense to me.

I like FB because I can post pictures of my kids and my dogs and get awws and they are so cute that I like and then I come here for funny gifs and to make sarcastic, sometimes rude comments I can't make on Facebook. See I go to the outlet I want for the entertainment I'm looking for and I never have to complain. If one is boring me, or annoying me that day, I just go find something else to do.

What about bragging about your new born baby and they keep posting baby pictures week after week for months on end?

I don't have an issue with people bragging about their kids on social media.

If it gets too overwhelming for whatever reason, I just snooze them for 30 days. There are people who I genuinely enjoy seeing what their family is up to. A good example is a former coworker who I still talk to off and on but she lives out west now so I only see her when she's in town once a year-ish.

My son has a Twitter account to connect with coaches and rankings services. If I had one I’d probably just like his post. If his personal coach re-posted with some accolade addition I may re-post that, so the family members could see it.

Nothing before high school.

The hypocrisy of this world never ceases to amaze me. Post shittt about your children all that you want. People have the option to either look at it or not look it. What ever happened to live and let live?
….also, I couldn’t give 2 shitz whether or not your kid won the fake natty.

While true, the flip side to that is people scroll through FB to see what other people are doing. It's basically why social media was created. So if you're not posting shite about yourself then why even be on it?

I'm not FB for that reason, I don't care to see what other people are doing and I don't care to share what I'm doing with other people.

But if you're on it, you have no sense bitching about people's vanity.

Brag away, Facebook is a good place to do it, if someone is not interested, they don't have to read it. I like reading about my friends, their grandkids, the cool pics of the first day of school all the way to graduation. The baseball game they won, the pee-wee golf tournament, it's happy time.

Beats reading about war and riots.
