Every time someone starts a thread like this, I’m thinking “here we go”. You never get actual conversation out of these.

I see a lot of posts that look honest. Posters saying they didn't hit it until their early 30s. Posters saying they reached it and then lost it. I see more what seems like truth than BS

When I was 30, I was only making $56K...but that equates to $101K today. Six figures now isn't what it was in the 90s.

So you’re not a teacher anymore

never was. i worked in IT for a education service center and we started at teacher salary. moved to a district and moved up a good bit, then went into "consulting" for K12.

I use the term "consulting" loosely. I install and configure network and security equipment for schools.

Most likely sales.

There are several industries where competition hadn't rooted out huge commissions.

I made about $120k at 28 years old in 2005. 2006, I hit $167k.
2007, I had 5 employers go bankrupt or out of business. 2008, I made over $40k in a new career pathway (at 30 years old starting out with a bunch of recent college grads).

Still eating shrooms though.

Its dumb to think you beat addiction when you just traded one for another.
