uck those scumbags. My gf in college lived on Brightside. I was going duck hunting the next morning so I had a boat hooked to my truck. Wasn't able to park in a normal spot. Parked on the grass and woke up at 4am to go hunting, truck and boat both gone.

This would piss me off severely!

Don't forget parking lot security guards who get a cut of the towing fee for reporting the vehicle

A consequence of being part of civilized society is forgetting that trashy people refer to cash as literal banknotes.

You tell me cash only I'm 100% bringing a debit card and looking at you weird when you say "I said cash only"

im not sticking up for riverside I hated them more than anything but parking in the grass at an apartment complex on bright side was the quickest way to get toed ever back when I was at LSU

It was pretty much a guarantee one of their spotters would drive by and see that

Houston over the years has had the most towing scandals and corrupt business practices and Apple is one of the biggest players in the game.

If there is any business where when you think "should I bring cash" it would be the towing business.

Riverside was cash only and no change given

Those people were the biggest scumbags you could ever come across. I’m pretty surprised nobody ever shot up the place to be honest

It is an easy shot to throw bricks off of Horace, down onto Riverside.

Riverside now has competition as to who is the largest shite bag in Baton Rouge.

I refuse to do business with any establishment with thee signs in the parking lot. It is predatory towing and this abuse in "regulated" by LSP.

Probably because people were doing chargebacks on their cards.

I had a very good experience with a tow company recently. I know that almost never happens so I wanted to put it out there. and yes, they took my Amex.

Look maybe one day UNICEF will get into the impound business but until then cash is the strictly preferred method of payment.

yeah pretty much any major predatory tow company is going to have the local police in their pocket

There was nothing you could do against riverside and they always had the same police officers at their gate to scare you into just paying the money and leaving

it seems like that would be really easy for the credit card company to prove they were lying though

Still costs the CC company to review the claim, even if it isn't awarded.

There may not be a more corrupt business than a tow company.

Cash businesses are a good way to commit tax fraud and they're also a good way to launder money

I was just a young dumb country bumpkin and didn't think it was that big of a deal.

And just like everyone else, I showed up to get my truck/boat with a checkbook or credit card and had to go find a damn ATM and go back to get them.

What did they charge to get a truck + boat back? It was like $260 when I got my car towed back around 2014
