This is an interesting point. I had a friend with a basset hound named Gus. Fantastic name for that dog.

Naming kids like dogs = not OK.

Why did you give your dog a plural name?

If you are rich Greyson is a cool name.

If you are poor it's pretty much an invitation to a daily asswhipping party.

Fair enough.

Although most names don’t bug me as long as they’re pronounceable.

Once you learn the dash don't be silent it all kind of falls into place.

What year do you think was the turning point?

Before this year more kids were named Robert than Bryder but after this year more kids were named Brieghleigh than Lee Ann.

I think it was 2009. Bunch more broke people figure a fancy name is free.

Problem with all of those alternate spellings is you can't just go pick your kid up a personalized keychain at a Stucky's when you stop..

Hell I was wondering when white people started naming their dogs like their kids.

My neighbor has a dog named Angela and years ago I taught a girl who named her daughter Boneigh. That's pronounced Bo nay, not bo neggi.

I don't think many rich people are naming their kids Greyson. Maybe if it was a family surname somewhere along the line, but the large majority are named by middle class parents severely lacking in taste.

My wife is the secretary at a local school. She says they have a lot of girls with the name Emily. Problem is there are seven ways it is spelled:
Emily
Emmalee
Emaleigh
Emmalie
Emileigh
Emma Lea
and one more I can't remember. Wife says parents get mad when she misspells their name, as if she should remember every one.

Plus there are a lot of Jayden, Cayden, Hayden, Jaylen, Braylen, etc. I really despise those names. Lol

There are some terrible names out there. We went traditional Irish for our girls.

I know a couple that went “traditional Irish” for their girls too: Cailin and Moira

That is white people checking their priveledge. Imagine 3 resumes on your desk: A Quavarius, a Tyrone and a Matthew... Easy call, right?

Now picture a Da’ron, a Ladarius and a Jaxxon...It’s a coin-flip.
