She's right for the most part.

More and more men are choosing not to work or even try to find a job. It's trend that has been developing for quite some time. It all ties in together.

Having said that, men are also tired of getting screwed in divorces. A man gets married, has kids, then gets divorced. Wife lives in a better house, rarely gets to see his kids, ex wife demonizes him. Other dudes see this and say hell no.

My sister and brother in law tried to shame me for being single at 28 years old and having no interest in marriage right now.

frick that. I am an adult who can make my own decisions. I'd rather invest in myself while I am young and maximize my career potential than commit to some broad who will take half of what I worked hard for.

I know that my married friends are jealous as hell of me. Jealous because I am single, accountable to no one and can do whatever the hell I want to. Meanwhile they have to deal with their post wall nagging wives on a daily basis.

i think you're talking about a different class than what most of us (and i think OP) are discussing

your description is very true in the lower class

we're more talking middle/upper middle class who just don't see the benefits of a risky endeavor like marriage

Marriage is a shitty idea because of no fault divorce in which the scales are blatantly weighted in favor of the woman regardless of what she did.

You are better off putting 50% of your net worth on a hand of blackjack these days

Currently have a hunting trip in South Africa set for next year. My married friends are jealous as frick . Moral of the subtle brag: Yeah the single life has its drawbacks sometimes, but god damned does it have its perks

A) You don't have to get married if you want to eliminate the majority of your financial concerns.

B) I have married and single friends who are jealous of my familiar situation too.

I don't know how this always becomes such a binary discussion. Either you're single and living the life and all married people are miserable, or marriage is awesome and single people are just filling a void with shallow, meaningless sex.

There is some truth to both of those statements. Plenty of married men had it both ways and still chose to get married. Plenty of marriages work well. There are single men and women who will never work in a long term relationship too.

Thirsty betas get used for marriage every day.

Post wall woman no longer getting sex from alphas, her dream alpha prince charming type won't commit to her because she is too old and used up. She still wants to have kids though. So she settles for a thirsty beta who worships the ground she walks on. She is not attracted to him and despises him but needs his sperm and bank account. She stays married just long enough to shite out a couple of kids, denying him sex otherwise. It's a dead bedroom relationship, he might get starfish duty sex once every couple of months or so just to get him to shut up. He is miserable, and the woman is probably seeking out side dick when she goes out with the girls, as the beta slaves away to provide. Once the kids are old enough, divorces him and wins cash and prizes. She can now return to her old party lifestyle. She just used the beta for his resources and sperm.

This happens every day, women will deny it but it's completely real. Women use men all the time. Yet, men are the jerks for wanting no part in that.

Yeah it is a two way street. There are plenty of evenings and weekends where I just crack up watching my kids play in the back yard while the wife and I grill. I wouldn't trade it for the world, and you'd probably say the same about the hunting trip.

Yea man, we need men to treat women like we did back in the 50s, amirite?

i try to look at it both ways

since i am single, i should live it up and do/value all that kind of stuff now

i have friends with some kids who are about to go to high school and i see how much value there is in that connection, too...but it's not here for me yet

I've got a single friend who personifies the OT's ideal bachelor lifestyle. I live vicariously through him, and he does the same through me. He helped me watch the kids the other day and then shared some of his adventures on SnapChat as a token of his appreciation.

Feeling so good about his life he needs to rant and piss on others' life choices. Enjoy your life if it is that great. If maturity to you means procreating and living the typical small town life...go for it. I'd rather work on my business, collect toys, and life experiences outside of family life. Let others enjoy their choices. Don't hate because I'm having fun.
