Is this guy a pastor or something? This type of cringey shite is rampant among evangelicals and hipster Christians.

Probably a single guy trying to raise another mans frick trophy just to win the affections of a hooters waitress. Sad

husbands are essentially slaves to the marriage. they work hard all day, get home do silly chores (that should have been handled by the wife), spend their weekends at soccer tournaments, doing projects around the house, going to brunch with their wife's friends, gender reveal parties, you get the idea. they don't get much time for themselves. that's what i got out of it.

A lot of the OP is bullshite, but i do agree with one thing. Men should be more accountable for their children. You can choose to not have them and do whatever the frick you want. But when you bring a child into the world, you have a responsibility and a duty to raise and support the child. And this goes for both parents. It's what's wrong with so many of the youth these days.

Marriage just isn't a good deal for men anymore so many are choosing not to get married. When women make these life choices they're called "strong, independent women" when men do the same exact thing they're "commitment phobic and immature".

That girl clearly hasn't been to Italy or Europe. Sexual harassment was rampant over there. Literally saw at least one of the girls in our group get groped every night we went out this summer.

Probably the first time a grown man clicked to submit a post on Facebook.

I don't think anyone in here really disagrees with that
This discussion is more about avoiding marriage/kids bc of the risks

quote: quote: Women in society take every opportunity to criticize men. No man is ever good enough. You're hanging out with the wrong women. quote: Why would any man willingly decide to have to: 1. Share half his earnings for life whether or not he stays married? 2. Be told he is a caveman because he enjoys the outdoors and or engines? 3. Be told he does not love his children because he won't miss a meeting for a million dollar account to watch a six year old sing a 45 second song in a school play. 4. Take on a second mother (his wife) and third mother (his mother in law) who thinks she knows more about what he needs to do than he does? 5. Be the source of constant disappointment to a wife who is never satisfied with his actions? (Example: If he works in the yard, he does not help in the kitchen. If he loves to cook, he is not a real man.etc) Yeah, you've definitely got to find a new circle of women. There are women out there where none of your list applies. I wanted to make this post and decided against it But since you started it, I'll echo your thoughts. It's just typical OT to paint marriage that way. Literally nothing from his list applies to my life.
Funny thing is this.
My wife is excellent. She does none of the above and when she starts showing a little bit of "female crazy brain", I let her know and she agrees to change. She does the same thing to me when I get too much of the "guy brain".
But here is reality. I meet dozens of married women every day in my work. 99% of them can't stop gabbing about how their husband is not good enough.
I am fortunate that I found an exception and had a great marriage for almost 25 years.
But the normal average US woman is a biotch and will never be happy.
I fear for my sons odds in marriage.

It really blows my mind that people like you share shite like this and give it attention. How/why do people give a frick about random, long-winded, soap-box opinions

This Facebook poster sounds less like he wants men to be men and more like he wants men to be slaves. As other posters have said, marriage just isn't as good of a deal for men anymore. If women want husbands, they need to figure out ways to make the arrangement attractive to men. This goes both ways.
Men have evolved to be more independent and cautious thanks to the feminist movement and war on men. I've seen too many men used and abused by women looking for money and a baby daddy. Men get no sympathy in the court systems, and they are starting to opt out of marriage. It is no surprise.
However, I am in full agreement that IF a man fathers a child, he should support that child. I just think that men don't need to be pressured into a bad deal by a society that is out to get them.

The dating pool outside of casual sex is completely awful for my generation. The amount of vapid girls who don't know how to clean or cook, engage in conversation outside of TV and movies, get trashed on a regular basis, etc is astounding. I can't blame anyone who opts out of the serious dating pool.
It's definitely strange. It's as if feminism looked down on women for learning traditional skills like cooking, cleaning, sewing, ect. However, popular culture, especially female culture, looks down on people who read and learn about more intellectual pursuits. At the same time, consumer culture tells women that appearance is everything, while PC culture tells them that anyone who gives them attention due to their appearance is trying to rape them. That they are healthy and valuable no matter what their size is. Popular culture also tells them that they don't need a man, that the perfect man does everything for them while never expecting anything in return, that any assertiveness on his part is rapey, and that if even the slightest thing seems amiss in a relationship, they should end it immediately and "just be happy"/
What these conflicting messages result in is a generation of women with no skills, no knowledge outside of reality tv culture and popular music, expecting to be valued not because of their sex, but because of their minds. Unfortunately, their minds are only filled with crap. They have no hobbies to connect with the average man, no opinions on the world around them outside of gossip mags and reality tv, and really nothing to offer but their sex. However, they have been told over and over and over that their sex shouldn't be a point of value, so they shame those who value it, while giving it away for free to avoid any real intimacy.
Let's just be honest, a significant minority, possibly even a plurality or slight majority of women under the age of 30 have essentially nothing to offer men when it comes to seeking a lifelong partner. By devaluing everything "traditional" while devaluing their sex, they have made themselves, for all purposes, essentially valueless.
