When I was 15, I lusted after 30 year olds,
When I was 30, I lusted after 15 year olds

Does that count?

Now that I'm approaching 50, I lust after all of them...I don't discriminate.

At the risk of sounding like a pretentious a-hole, you don't need a woman to check every single one of those boxes. My wife will readily admit we're on a different level intellectually, but that is only a piece of the puzzle. I can find ways to stimulate my mind independent of conversations with my wife, provided she hits many of the other boxes. It is obviously a matter of personal preference.

It's not so much having deep, engaged intellectual conversations (at least for me), it's just the need for someone sharp enough to argue well and not let me bullshite into doing whatever I want (which I am apt to do).

You're hanging out with the wrong women.

quote:

Why would any man willingly decide to have to: 1. Share half his earnings for life whether or not he stays married? 2. Be told he is a caveman because he enjoys the outdoors and or engines? 3. Be told he does not love his children because he won't miss a meeting for a million dollar account to watch a six year old sing a 45 second song in a school play. 4. Take on a second mother (his wife) and third mother (his mother in law) who thinks she knows more about what he needs to do than he does? 5. Be the source of constant disappointment to a wife who is never satisfied with his actions? (Example: If he works in the yard, he does not help in the kitchen. If he loves to cook, he is not a real man.etc)

Yeah, you've definitely got to find a new circle of women. There are women out there where none of your list applies.

I wanted to make this post and decided against it But since you started it, I'll echo your thoughts. It's just typical OT to paint marriage that way. Literally nothing from his list applies to my life.

The dating pool outside of casual sex is completely awful for my generation. The amount of vapid girls who don't know how to clean or cook, engage in conversation outside of TV and movies, get trashed on a regular basis, etc is astounding. I can't blame anyone who opts out of the serious dating pool.

You're making way too much sense here. SFP will be forever alone of that is his standard for a partner. But he also won't veer complain about being in a marriage he didn't want either, so props to him for at least knowing what he needs. Even if those needs are for lack of a better phrase, basically unattainable.

there is one primary box to be checked that severely limits potential connections

I don't get this. I grew up with all male siblings and even we were all made to learn how to cook and clean.

i've basically taught myself how to cook over the past couple years (thanks, Youtube)

i go out of my way to help girls i know who express an interest in it

cooking is something that isn't 'hard at all and so many people these days act like it's multi variable calculus

According to this retard we need to commit for the sake of committing

Why should I commit to a used up post wall whore who has had sex with over 100 guys? Spare me the "oh she isn't like that anymore the past is the past" garbage

that's such a red flag

What's the value of a wife who takes PRIDE in potentially not being able to run a household?

I think there will be a reverse panic for a lot of men in our generation in late 30s-40s age. The thought of bar hopping and sleeping with randoms is a lot more attractive at 24 than 42.

basically

there are a lot of guys at the extremes (frick boys v. complete beta males) and a HUGE chunk in the middle that's just tired of it all. dudes are legit just checking out and slumming around (without that being the express purpose like a frick boy)

Understandable, but that also flies in the face with some of the sentiment on this board. You, SFP, and a few others are looking for a challenge. Many others are suggesting that women are too much of a challenge and not worth it.

i don't think that's their point

it's not that they're a challenge. in fact, it's the opposite. there are tons of casual options out there which offset the desire to take huge risks with things like marriage
