Best of Me - The Starting Line Wasn’t exactly my favorite kind of music when it came out but I’ll be damned if it doesn’t perfectly capture high school in 2004 for some reason.

I love this song so much that I made my band learn it so we could cover it. A couple of them had never heard it before, and now it’s the consensus favorite cover we do.

Don't Speak - No Doubt

I don't know why.

Every time I hear it, I have memories of my room in high school, just slightly altered details each time.

Only thing I can think is that I may have been on shrooms in my room when this song came on the radio.

ETA: Could have been Acid.

John Mellancamp - Jack and Diane

Especially the line about Tastee Freez, because as a kid we had one in my town and I loved it.

Jessica- The Allman Brothers just reminds me of the good times just cruising around listening to great music with good friends, parties in the pasture, hanging at the river bed.

Two songs take me back to a time when my dad was alive (he died in 1971 when I was 9) listening to Otis Redding in his red Chevy pickup not long before he passed away.

(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay (Official Music Video) - YouTube

Otis Redding - Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa (Sad Song) (1966) - YouTube

Simple, happy times. Very poor but had no real understanding of how poor because we were happy.

At least 5 more songs pop in my head now, music has always been a nostalgia trigger for me, brings back specific, vivid memories.
