What’s with all the Navy COs getting relieved?

US Navy Times
This seems to have become a serious problem in the last 10 years or so. Is Annapolis failing to produce quality leadership?
Not sure about this situation but I have a theory on some of the others in recent years. I served long before females were allowed to serve in combat assignments and think it should have remained that way. The CO of my old ship (a female) was canned in the mid 2010s along with the XO for the usual fraternization BS that come along with females assigned to combat vessels and in general the usual female and drama that I’ve seen an most , not all but by far most situations where females are in supervisory roles.
Sad state of affairs in deed.

When your Commander in Chief is more interested in destroying the country than helping it, this is what you get.

They haven’t transed to the new way of doing things.

Problem is the % of COs that are academy guys is way down.

It has always failed, as have all of our service academies. By a wide margin the most corrupt part of the officer corps comes from the academies. It's not even close. I just uploaded a video about closing the academies.
Good people emerge in spite of the academies, not because of them.

It may be a repeat of Obama's purge of the best of the best. Some good, loyal Americans snuck through the process and due to their excellent records got promoted. ;But they say something to a close confidant that they don't agree with calling men women, or women men and that close confident rats them out. Because in pedo joes world pronouns are much more important than having good officers in the military. Or something along those lines.

This has been going on for a long time. We used to joke when the Navy Times was delivered that it was time to see which COs were relieved.

I’ll bet well over half of these incidents relate to sexual relationships between men and women on board ships.

Obviously times have changed but you also have to realize that the media is a lot more popular and in your face. No different than things like global warming and violent crime, mostly just overblown media click bait.
Of course going from 0 women to women on boats is going to create issues.

When I served, women only served on auxiliary support ships and not combat vessels. Those support vessels were inundated with the same problems seen through the fleet today. I’ll stop short of saying the problem is females in the Navy but clearly the environment is not conducive to the coexistence of males and females serving in close proximity. And it’s detrimental in combat critical roles and degrades the readiness of the whole of the Navy.

The Navy was always good about relieving officers for screwing up.

Some of the blame has to go to a weakened “Goat Locker”. Chiefs these days are more worried about getting a Good eval and an End Of Tour award than calling out bullshite leadership from the O’s. Sad.

My educated guess is that those who say these upticks in these incidents are related to sexual and fraternization issues.
Military folks tend to be young and physically fit. Mix them together in a close working environment and there will be sexual tension.

When my nephew was applying to the service academies, he had to answer all kinds of questions about trannies and gays. Who wants to deal with that shite?

I’ve never bought the COs before but when their khaki shorts are on sale for $5 I go hog wild.

Maybe promotions are not based on merit.
When I was on Shore Patrol in Rota Spain in the early 70’s the security officer,a Commander, our boss was at a party probably 5 nights a week.
Apparently, his wife would go but leave early.
A unit would be dispatched to pick him up and bring him home.Sometimes it was at the O club, sometimes at a senior officers house.
One night I picked him up and asked him if he didn’t get tired of going to parties so many nights a week.
He said yes but “that’s how you get ahead in this man’s Navy”.
I didn’t say it but I I thought to myself,so promotions based on kissing arse, not job performance.
I was wavering on reenlisting, that was one the things that played in to my decision to get out.
I didn’t like the idea of my superior officers not being the most competent but the best arse kissers.
