A lot of the race stuff is due to the lack of power that white people have in being allowed to be critical of very anti-social behavior in general and open anti-white racism from the institutional elites. Class in America is not income based it's cultural.
Elite white culture's self hatred is a big part of them demonstrating their class fitness. This is how they show each other who they are and that they are on the "right" side. Not just in terms of racial attitudes but many other areas of society too. This has hurt both poor blacks and whites. It's locked black people into a racist paternalism buttressed by crappy progressive racial theory where they need to be saved and it has made working class white culture analogous to being fascist. One can't ever stand on its own and the other should never be allowed to.
Most of the frustrations that populist have, race, sex etc are due to the cultural elites creating tension as means of them keeping full control on the mechanisms of power. When they lose control they go nuts and when in control they inject their ideas into society until it claps back and elects someone like Trump.

Democrats & civil rights activists don’t want race relations to improve to where we all live in peace & harmony.
There is no money to be made when things are calm.
They have to stir the pot to keep the cash flowing.

I'll speak from a black perspective. While this board can seem racist at times it's not a reflection of the real world.
In the real world, I've made friends with a white dude that was driving around with two big rebel flags on the back of his truck as we bonded over real country music and hip-hop.
I've met white dudes at bars that invited me to their camps for hunting and fishing after only talking to them for 30 minutes.
I've had conversations about race and politics with Trump supporters and it was civil, thought provoking conversations.
I've jokingly traded racist barbs with actual racist white dudes and was invited to dinner the next day. One dude literally told me at a restaurant unprovoked that they don't serve fried chicken here and that I'd better tip.
I responded something to the fact that black people did counter sit ins during the civil right movement only to discover that white people didn't even season their food well enough for black people to get their heads cracked in over and that it was waste of time.
Next thing, we are drinking beers together and I was at his house a week later because he wanted to show me that white people can cook. He even jokingly put raisins in the potato salad. Friends to this day.
You'd swear a race war was incoming according to the media. Truth is, people really get along. We really aren't all that different. Race is a social construct based on perceived cultural differences.
TLDR - The media and social media is not a real place and while there are actual racists, we aren't all that different and just like good people.
