I used to be totally against it, but if it makes my son feel safe and secure, then I don't mind. Heck, he's only going to be little for a little while. Might as well keep him close while I can.

It really does have some interesting studies.

Alot of studies now show that forcing your kids to sleep alone actually cause dependancy issues.....

I mean from pure science standpoint, our biology is that of a pack animal. Our body tells us to sleep with others. It is society that put kids in their own room.

Now, of course, here on the OT i dont expect to have an actual good discussion on this. Just a bunch of snowflake pussy remarks

See, this goes to the root of today's "everyone gets a trophy" generation. Everyone bags on the teens/early 20s people for being soft and unable to handle adversity but this shite didn't just happen in a vacuum.
We MADE this generation. We rode around without bicycle helmets, suffered 30-0 defeats in little league, got our asses beat in dodge ball, etc., but then decided our kids shouldn't be exposed to these injustices.
ClientNumber8 didn't do this shite.

Full disclosure: I'm like ClientNumber8.

I miss ClientNumber8.

Dabo Swinney co-slept with his mother while he was a student at Alabama. He proudly speaks on it at Clemson functions and even claims to have the very bed they slept in at his new multi million dollar home on Lake Hartwell. Weird fricker.

How old is your son? I've got a 4 month old son, and he is currently sleeping in something my wife calls a rock and play in our room. He's pretty much outgrown that thing, so I'm thinking we need to move him to his crib in his room soon

i love the number of "my son has never seen the inside of our bedroom ever and if he wakes up i spank his arse and throw him back in his bed"

my little one is 2 and if he wakes up and i'm tired as shite i may just grab him and bring him back to our bed.

doesn't happen all that often and i'm quite certain its not causing him to turn into a pussy because he wakes up next to mom & dad occasionally. his little face lights up in the morning when he sees us both and realizes he got away with something

so frick the haters, its really nobody's business what goes on at your house but this is the OT...

It really would be an interesting study

OT truck nutters say you are a pussy snowflake for allowing a young child to sleep with you, eventhough you are following natural human biology and saying frick societys pressures

OT truck nutters say you are a pussy if you reject natural human biology and fall in line with societal pressures and say there are not natural gender roles for men and women.

Make up your fricking mind

its my 4th kid. i'm 51. he's damned independent; caught him climbing the 20ft cliff in our backyard the other day and playing with a carpenter bee so i'm not worried he's a going to turn into a snowflake because he gets to sleep in our bed now and then.

Another interesting point, is the fact that young children sleeping on their own was not started to better the lives of the child

It was for the betterment of the parents.....

And I am not pointing fingers. We put our little one alone

I'm not saying that kid will turn out gay...but I'm willing to bet that at some point in his life he will play around with a penis that isn't his

I'm not saying that the kid will turn out to be gay either...mostly because I'm not in the business of speculating on some kid's sexuality.

Interesting. Co-sleeping could even mean sleeping in the same room fwiw.

2 or 3 years of age is no big deal, but by the age of 4 kids shouldn't have to depend on having their parents around to fall asleep.

Like I said in an earlier post, I don't remember a time when I ever slept with my parents. I might have slept with them when I was 2 or 3 years old, I don't remember, but I did share a room with my brother. He is 10 years older than I, we had 3 bedrooms. My sister had her own room, my parents then me and my brother. But by the time I was 8, he was 18 and was out of the house..

But my brother use to frick with me a lot. I remember one night, when we still had one queen size bed.. I begged and begged him to let the dog sleep in the bed and he said "okay but if he pisses in the bed you will have to sleep in it". Middle of the night the dog pissed in the bed. He made me sleep in dog piss the whole night. That type of stuff builds character.

Studies????

How about the experience of actually raising kids? Did the study include how fricked up/ dysfunctional is the household???

fricking idiots... every one of them...

I'm guessing that with six pages, someone has told you what this is. It's a style of parenting called "attachment parenting". It's very hippie and new age but I actually have friends, who I used to think of as pretty normal, that do this. In fact, I've had a lot of friends who were totally normal become very weird in their parenting. I would've never guessed but sometimes people just have different ideas on how to raise a kid.

Whatever. I think it's weird and cannot relate to them on any level as parents...... but I'm sure they think it's terrible that my son has a wooden spoon at each house we frequent, whether it be a friend or relative. He's gotta know I can whip his arse anywhere, anytime.
