re: What's the worst divorce horror story that you've witnessed ?

Not that I witnessed, and of course I have to question the veracity of this story…
But apparently in Indiana, a woman can cheat on her husband, get full custody, and demand child support payments. A guy on Tik Tok chronicled his experience with it. His wife was banging some guy and the courts didn’t care at all.

Not just Indiana. Adultery usually doesn't factor into child support, especially if it's a no fault divorce (hence no fault). Spousal support (Alimony) yes.

She left him after 2 kids got another woman. Now takes half his salary in child support even though he has kids over half the time.

Husband and wife coworkers. Husband has an affair with another coworker, dumps his wife, marries the other chick. It makes for an uncomfortable work environment, so they connive to get the ex fired. I'm sure there are a lot worse examples, but this is so petty and crass. BTW the conventional wisdom is once a cheater always a cheater but they've been married about 20 years now.
This is pretty bad.
Years ago we had a new president of our office. He was married. His assistant was a woman who worked there for 15+ years. She was the nice church going lady whose husband would drop off lunch to sometimes. She was a pretty woman for her age (early 60s).. Anyway, within 7 or 8 months of the new president being there, somehow it got out that he (president) and the woman were having a relationship together. She divorces her husband of many years (they had grandchildren so I would say at least 30 years) and evidently the president told her he would leave his wife, instead he stepped down and him and wife moved away. But damn, the three working together? That had to be interesting.

Buddy of mine was a football coach fell for his RE agent (whose Mom was coach at same school) went to divorce wife but changed his mind at least for now. Not terrible but odd.

A friend, well more of a friend of a friend, married a woman with 2 young children. She convinced him to adopt her children. She then divorced him. He was on the hook for child support for 15 years for kids that weren't even his.
I’d be on the deadbeat dad list working out something with my employer on how to pay me under the table. Absolutely no way I’d be able to stomach that.

Two and a Half Men is funny for a reason....

College buddy I moved out to Arizona with catches wife messing around after 16 yrs of marriage and three kids. He was a controlling husband and reading between the lines probably cheated himself and was for sure pathological. While going through the divorce he told me he was getting nicked for $8 million, a $7 million home in Palos Verdes, CA and $55k/monthly for 10 years. He passed 10 years ago and a lot has come out since then which leads me to believe he was lying about the details but he owned the house in PV, a $4 million home in Scottsdale and two others in Hermosa Beach- including this one below on the beach in HB which he was living in by himself when he passed so it could have been true. At one time it was listed at $23 million.

Honestly, why not just kill both of them?

Mine probably. But I've shared it a few times on here

One of my buddies married a woman with three kids by 2 or 3 different fathers. The youngest was damn near an infant (under a year I know). He was with her for about 5 years and raised the youngest like his. She cheated on him, packed her shite and left one day and he can't see any of the kids now. That one was pretty bad.

Friend's ex-husband got drunk and broke her face. She ended up with her jaw wired shut for months. During that time he ran off to a foreign country with another woman and left her with Like $25K in credit card debt and a big federal tax lien.

The wife was a lawyer and fricked up the paper work and had to start over years later after the dude was about to get remarried. The wife also blew a shite load of money out of her trust and when the divorce date got reset he was on the hook for half of what she pissed away from her own money and had been paying support the entire time as well.

It's cute you can't read between the lines there

A “friend” of mine cheated on his stay at home wife with a dozen women and manage to get the house, his boat, his BMW, his Ford Raptor and extended custody of the kids. I was floored. I think child support came out to $3k a month though.
Apparently he had a lot of records of her being an unpleasant wife and mom.

The wife, whos an attorney, fricked up the filing and after a divorce was already granted it was revoked because of the filing error. Which meant they had still be legally married the entire time. During that time she collected support payments but also blew a shite load of money out of her trust fund(from her grandfather), spent a bunch of cash on a house that was in her name alone, and a bunch of other shite. The husband was on the hook for half of all that got pissed away after he thought they were divorced for over 2 years.

quote:Had a friend in a very similar situation. Married a single mom and adopted, then they had a kid together. A couple years later, he catches her cheating, they get divorced and she gets child support for both kids. On the bright side, he was able to start saving money immediately after the divorce. The child support amount was less than she spent when they were married. On the down side, she started the affair with the cameraman who shot their wedding.
She convinced him to adopt her children.
