also spent 1 week working for Zuppardo's in Metry.
was working in with the butchers and this one guy was showing me how to make a particular cut. this old guy walks in yelling "this aint no training school" 25 yr old me said "shut the frick old man, this don't concern you".
Turned out, he was the owner. And in fact it no longer concerned him.

19 years old. Classified ad said 'Warehouse Positions'. Called and got hired over the phone. First morning I get to the business and there's no warehouse. It's a small lease space in an older shopping center. Manager greets me, we do no paperwork, and he gives me 6 or so boxes to load into the back of a Pontiac Grand Am. He tells me that I was to work with the guy driving the Grand Am. First question guy asks me as we're leaving is how comfortable I was talking to strangers. We pull up at a daycare. Guy gets out and opens one of the boxes.
This damn job is selling the cheapest looking wooden toys cold call style to daycares. I quit right then and there. I made the guy take me back to my car. So my day started around 8 and I was back home around 9:30.

2 1/2 days working for my uncle one summer roofing in college. He hired me and my roommate to pull wooden shingles off of a huge old horse barn. Was going to pay us each $100 for pulling the shingles off of 10 squares. I don't know how many squares were on this roof, but had to been at least 200. He sold us on the thought we could make as much money as we wanted, the faster we go the faster we make the money. Said it ought to take us about 6-8 hours to finish 10 squares. Well, after 2-1/2 days we still weren't finished with our first 10 squares and we had both fallen off the roof at least once or twice. We threw in the towel, and told him to call in some Mexicans to finish the job. That was definitely the hottest job I ever had. Terrible.

My first job as a teenager was when I lived in Ketchikan Alaska. I was 16. I got a summer job at a sea cucumber processing plant. Apparently sea cucumber is a delicacy in Japan. Think I worked there for about two weeks before I got a better paying job at Ward’s Cove Salmon cannery.

That actually sounds pretty awesome for a HS job.

It used to be the go to job for college kids. They would come up in summer and work the fisheries.
Now its all Russians, Mexicans and Filipinos.

Right out of high school a buddy lined us up a night job at Port fourchon humping sacks.
We had to unload broken pallets of 50lb bags of feed to new pallets.

My dad made me get a job when I was 15. So, I got a job at McDonald's. I was there for probably an hour until my friends showed up while I was flipping burgers. I ended up leaving with them to go smoke some doobies.

Not me, but I had a buddy that worked at a restaurant for a few hours, hated it, instead of telling the manager, he jumped over the back fence and ran home. He was probably 15-16

Post school: Two months at customer service call center. Met my ex-girlfriend there. Had sex, don’t care.

2 hours. Was a college student hired as a salad and prep guy at a local large chain restaurant (something like Outback). About 2 hrs in to the dinner shift they told me the dishwasher hadn’t shown up and I was to wash dishes the rest of the night. I looked over and the dishes, pots and pans were about to hit the ceiling. I asked “Where’s your restroom?” And headed straight for my car. Never got a call or anything.

One day. Worked at a car wash oil change placed owned by an ex NFL player. I got a nice tip and he saw it and demanded I give it to him and he pays a percentage to me on my check. Then the guy that hit me the job quit as his check was short. Owner took out withholding without itemized party stub.
I saw my fingernails were black with oil and realized I didn't want to do this job.

had a summer gig fall thru while in college. The offer was to work full time and make pie in the sky money for a college kid.
I scrambled to find something last minute. Applied for any shite job in baton rouge. The HBO documentary Telemakerers is pretty spot on to what i was looking at.
One of the jobs was advertised as "NASCAR marketing firm". They got there, tossed us in a car took us to a random gas station in baton rouge, and had us sell car cleaning products to everyone pumping gas.
