I understand families with little kids might be a little late but this was a baw and bawette that stroll in after the sermon. They also ran out right after communion. So a solid 15 minutes of time given to God there.

Be like TulaneLSU and Mother. Get there an hour early, light a candle for loved ones, go to Confession, say a Rosary and enjoy Mass.

My mom's rule growing up was, if you arrived after the priest walked up the aisle, or left before communion, it didn't count.

If God is sitting up there with a clock and a stop watch, we’re probably all screwed.

I mean, this is the only part that matters, right?

You’d think he’d have bigger fish to fry.

Nothing would displease me more than to find out God was a bean-counting, watch tapping bureaucrat.

The Pharisee, standing by himself, was praying thus, ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people: thieves, rogues, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of all my income.’ But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even look up to heaven, but was beating his breast and saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his home justified rather than the other; for all who exalt themselves will be humbled, but all who humble themselves will be exalted.”
The gospel reading yesterday in Catholic mass.

The irony.

Just to get their communion.

But see I'm even smarter. I buy my host in bulk and have it blessed and vtransformed and eat my way into heaven at my leisure.

Sounds like you’re busy worrying about what everyone else is doing instead of focusing on your own relationship with God. While in His house worshiping as a community. Focus on why you go to mass in the first place and you won’t worry about who shows up when.

A woman is running late for Mass. She wheels in to the parking lot, jumps out and and runs toward the church. Outside is an usher standing by the door. The lady while trying to straight out her attire asked the usher "is mass out"? The usher replies "no, but your slip is showing". ..

As long you get communion you get into heaven, right? Sounds like a good strategy.
Good chance they leave LSU games at halftime too.

That version of Christianity is obsolete. We've moved onto preaching prosperity and sitting in judgement of everyone and everything around us.

What's the point of going to church if you are going to judge people?

Who knows?

The point of church is to set aside a specific time to commune with God. With that said, life can sometimes get in the way so you have to make whatever adjustments you can. It may have been something like Baw and Bawette may have been able to squeeze in that amount of time only because a family member was able to come sit with their sick child just then or they could have just been there to grab Communion so their short time there "counts".
