I’m at the fair grounds, I’m thinking about putting a $100 across the board bet on a horse (a $300 bet). That might be the 3rd or 4th biggest bet I ever made.

What y’all got?

A friend of mine last year was sure the Toronto Maple Leafs would win the Stanley Cup. I offered him double Vegas odds at the time. Odds were 100/1 - so I gave him 200/1 odds and bet $200 - would've been on the hook for it had they won. They took the #1 seed Capitals to seven games in the opening round..my butthole was clenched incredibly tight through that series.

I bought a half million dollar home and even leveraged the purchase by borrowing most of the money. That and the time I believed her when she said she had just had her period.

500 roulette, think i was down 200 and thought doubling down and putting a little extra would be smart. Last time i ever went. I might drop under 50 here n there but I'll never gamble again.

Only if I lose. Then I’ll have to go around looking through garbage cans to see if anyone accidentally threw away winning tickets so I could have money to eat.

I’m not betting that much on a damn horse.

Half of everything I’ll ever own on my wife not being crazy. So far it’s been a good bet.

$500 on the 2014 Ole Miss-Alabama game with my uncle who is a big Alabama fan. He was staying at my parent’s condo in Oxford, and as soon as I walked in from that game, he paid up.

I handled the books during a week of bowl season in 2007 for my boss who was a small time local bookie on the side at the time and was trying to enjoy a ski trip with his family for New Year’s. The deal was I would get $400 if either way if folks won money, but if the house won, I’d get 10% of the take.

There were a couple high rollers who were betting stupid shite, buying juice, doing 1st half, second half, etc. By the time my week was over, the house was up around $22K.

I decided instead of taking $2200 that I would bet $1000 of my earnings on LSU to cover against Ohio St. Either way, I was getting drunk and walking away with around $1100 or with $3200.

Best time ever.

Outside of that, I put down $200 a handful of times, but am typically a $25-$50 bettor per game.
