$20 on the street next to the Piccadillys. I drove by and was like, wut? Lemme just back up and see what I thought I saw. Sure enough.

$800 at a casino. All crisp $100s

Found a lady’s pocketbook while walking out of an LSU game. Found her address. Was in Santa Maria. Brought it to her front door. Hope she found it. Found a wallet with $880 in it with a Mexican ID. Tried for a year to locate with no success. Donated the money to St Jude.

Something like $335 in an envelope in the Ramada Inn parking lot in Gainesville, the night before a LSU-Florida game. The envelope also had a voters registration card, weirdly enough, so I was able to look up the owner. It was the WR coach for the Gators (the Ramada was their team hotel). It had to be walking around money for players/recruits. LSU won and I had fun mailing it to him with Geaux Tigers! and the score written on the envelope and in the letter of explanation (mailed to the Florida Athletic office to his attention). A week later I got a Florida souvenir football signed by most of the coaches and key players. The head coach at the time was Ron Zook who was fired within a few days.

I also found $11 on the ground at Disneyland in the mid 60's, before there even was a Disneyworld. I was probably 7 years old and that $11 was a huge deal to me, more so than $300+ a decade ago. My dad walked me over to the lost and found and made sure I turned it in. 6 months later I got a check in the mail from Disney for the $11 plus a tiny bit of interest. Nobody had claimed it.

Wife asks " how much was it that you dropped?"

"Uh, I think it was like 70"


Wife gave them the whole stash...

"Its a little more than 70, guess its your lucky day"

Feel bad for the person who lost it

I found a $20 once, but that’s about it.

I have found some other cool stuff though. Found a pair of costas’s in the vet lot for an LSU game. Brand new. Found another pair of costas on the parade grounds, one lens was cracked. Mailed it in, laid $15-20 and got a brand new pair back.

Found a couple hundred in Walmart a few weeks ago. Gave it to to a CSM to hold and went back about my business.
