My boss would show up one week out of every three months. He had several satellite offices he would visit. During one of those weeks I had a hemorrhagic stroke. If he wasn't there that week I would've died.

I'm not in as low as you but I started a decent sized position in the 3s.

The first time I took the bar, I failed it by 1 point. That changed the course of my life, resulting in me meeting my wife and we now have a kid. My kid is the best thing to ever happen to me. If I would have guessed “right” on just one more question I would have never had him which is just unimaginable to me. Getting all those wrong answers wrong, and not a single less one wrong, was the luckiest thing ever for me, even though at the time it felt like the most unlucky thing possible.

Something not sappy about wife / kids?

I’ve been shot at by a poacher and he missed

I’ve been mugged and didn’t piss myself even when the loaded .38 was on my chest

I’ve been in a situation where a head on collision seemed 100% likely and the idiot magically swerved at the last moment and missed me by inches. There ended up being no wreck and no damage. Two lane road and he was passing on a bridge that had no shoulder and I was apparently not seen

My nurse noticing something was wrong when she came on duty the morning of the day I coded. She noticed my color had changed, I had a pale gray look. We didn’t know it until that night when I flatlined, but my INR number was through the roof, my wife thinks it was over 10, and I was bleeding to death from the sutures in my heart.

Stopped by to see a friend after the LSU at TN football game in Oct, 1967. Friend wasn't there, but ran into a young lady that I had dated one weekend a year before.
We started dating, married in April 68. What a wonderful journey. Best friend as well as wonderful wife.

I started this thread just kind of BSing around, but its been cool reading about how people have met their wives.

Thanks for sharing my friend..

I’ll tell you this week if I get an offer for my dream job. Had my round 2 this past week so I’m hoping for the best.

Right place at the perfect time to buy our house.

It had been on the market for a while with no offers. We heard about it on Wednesday. We looked at it on Friday. We made a fairly lowball offer on a Sunday and they accepted on Monday. They got a full price offer on Tuesday, but they were a day too late.

Cool. Good for you. There was never a stage in my life where I could walk, but since you said this.. To me, it really would be funny if you got into an accident and was paralyzed. Because you know, in life anything can happen to anyone at any given second.

And just for the record, I hate to even admit this but there are certain things that I have no remorse for to the point I can't understand the way people react so me saying that if you were in an accident and got seriously injured I would think its funny.. I am in no way saying it "just to be cool".

If I learned that something happened and it was some dude who posted on TD under jaytothen my first thought would probably be something like "ha.. that cocky little mother fricker. That's good. I hope he suffers".

frick me.

Bitter much?

You must be very brave to not be afraid of boiling hot water.

You don’t scare easily.

I got hit in the face, head and shoulders with Antifreeze/water from a hot Car radiator once - 2nd and 3rd degree scald burns - and never had any scaring from it.
PS: scaring =/= scarring
