Not stupid rich but as a freshman at LSU a friend told us about this thing called Bitcoin and I bought 10 of them for roughly $10. Forgot about it, threw away my laptop a few years later and my hard drive is currently in the landfill with $700k on it or whatever bitcoin is worth these days. No idea what my password or encryption key was and all I can do is laugh

In April 1993, the weekend of the NFL draft, I saw a guy buy in for 10k on the dice table @ Grand Casino Gulfport which is now Island View.

Table limits were 20k back then. He had a 45-50 minute roll and was maxed out 20k on every number on the table (4,5,6,8,9,10) as well as 5k on all the hard ways (double 2’s, 3’s,4’s,5’s). He kept hitting all those numbers on the board as well as a boatload of hard way numbers which pay 8:1 and 10:1

He colored up and cashed out 2.5M

Never seen anything like it ever again.

My little $100 buy in turned into $9,600 on his roll.

I was so dang young at the time and had a fake ID but felt like I had hit the lottery!

Reading of the Last Will & Testament

I am pretty rich tho

House full of hounds
Nice fruit and vegetable garden in the back yard
Lots of elderly widows in my hood
Mind still works pretty good
Pecker still works

May be cash poor but pretty danged life rich

Pretty hard to beat this at my age

Early 90s, sixth grade, cosmic bowling. Once an hour they’d stop everything and draw a name for someone to bowl a strike for $100.

Called my name. Bowled a strike. I had never had $100 before.

Woke up the next morning and biked to the card shop and spent it all.

Friends of mine started a business renting oil/gas equipment, they tried to get me in but due to their shady past I said no.

Within five years they were rolling (bringing in 50-60K a month) and didn't have to work, they drove fancy cars, vacationed, golfed every day, hunted all over Texas and the mid west, made fun of me because I "had" to work.

Within 12 years, one is dead, the other divorced and lives in a trailer.

My uncle best friend went from doing 7 years in the penitentiary to the day after he came home his sister won the California lottery for like 30 something million… created a trust for him that pays him 40k a month as long as he stays out of jail…

I have a cousin who became rich within a few weeks, then spent 3 years in the federal penitentiary

He’s not rich anymore

Buddy went to work for SpaceX and got a giant RSU award that vested at the IPO. He worked there less than a year.

Legit answer,

an acquaintance of mine when I was new to town was probably making $3-500k a year and moved to go grow a business with his best friend. Theh stayed at our church since the move was only 30 minutes anwag and became good friends after he left and kept coming back because they liked the church. Our kids stayed good friends and are today.

He was a millionaire in 2-3 years and 15 years later he is high 8 to low 9 figures after blowing a company up and starting numerous others.

We’re still the same friends we always were he just pays for a lot of stuff and occasionally lets us get dinner or movie tickets.

Great dude who gives back a ton to the community but has a lot of fun along the way.

Back in the late 90s when UPS first became a publicly traded company, a lot of their employees became rich overnight. I was good friends with the UPS driver who did the daily deliveries to my work. Of course, I never asked how much he made, but I do know he bought a very nice house on Lake Guntersville and retired by the end of that year despite being in his early 50s.

Have a buddy that’s been there I think 9 years.

Director level now. I’m sure he got paid (or will whenever he can sell his shares). But he still lives like a broke college student so I don’t think he really cares.
