They got good bread.
Usually pick up a pack of sandwich rolls and get a sandwich.

A few times I did go to the restaurant side and sit down to eat. Got there before the NASA employees came in. The place gets packed pretty quickly at lunch. It was pretty good and price was not actually cheap. I got rice, some beef dish with vegetables, and a soup and it was under $10.

I-10 to 510. 310 will put them in Boutte.

But if you do mess up and go that way, go to Frank's supermarket in Des Allemands. Then go to the other Frank's and get a bloody mary.

You should thank them.

Last year someone sent me one from a bakery down there in New Orleans. They shipped it with all the icing and stuff on it.

But its not a family activity. It was always "here's a taste of Louisiana" sent to a good client. Who wants to get a "gift" that you have to bake and decorate? Sheesh

Appreciate all the responses though

This sounds like lazy cost saving tactics by Gambinos. The other major places somehow ship their cakes with the icing and topping on them and I've never once heard of an issue.

Haydels and Manny Randazzos also puts cups, beads, dabloons, and a little Mardi Gras magazine thing in the box. I think a little pack of coffee goes into the box too.
Perfect for your out of state folks who will appreciate a little give such as this.

I was being facetious. I assume they are but who knows in this crazy world

I didnt purchase them when I saw how they were packaged and just wasnt sure what was going on with them. Just didnt seem like a good "git from Louisiana", especially to people that are not accustomed to them like we are.

For Texas it's honestly not that bad and not hilariously overpriced the way the standalone bakeries sell them. I mean Calandro's will always be my favorite and its price point is solid, but you make do with what you got haha.

is terrible "king cake"...

Hi Do is the best king cake in the state of Louisiana, and it's not even close... just sugar on top of the cake, not a fricking inch of icing topped with sprinkles or any other bullshite...
