If there was actually a best pick-up, would you be asking which one it is?

Just bought an F150 over the weekend. What I found during my tireless research was that despite the anecdotal evidence, there is almost no difference between the 1/2 ton trucks as far as overall reliability.
They are all built to go 150-200k miles with minimal fuss as long as you take care of them. Just go drive them all and see which one you can get the best deal on.

I have had them all except for a Ford. I got an 18 Ram last year and can honestly say it has been my favorite. I was biased against Dodge like most on here but the Ram has proven to be a really nice truck. Rides smooth with a seamless shift in the 8 speed trans. The hemi gets really good gas mileage unless you get over 75 on the hwy. Doing 70 it is a 21 mpg truck. Tows as good as any others for normal boat trailers loads. I don't keep them more than a few years so cannot comment on longevity.

F-SERIES MARKS 41 YEARS AS AMERICA’S BEST-SELLING PICKUP
Must be doing something right.

Depends on how you weigh things. Do you like all of the new fangled bells and whistles, or do you want something that'll last 20 years?

If you are throwing Toyota into that classification of Japanese, Tundras are built in Texas and their 5.7 tows Space Shuttles baw.
I rented a Tundra once with the 5.7 and it passed everything up on the road but a gas station!!!

My point is more WHY do we have to continue to beat this dead horse? Is the OP REALLY going to decide which truck he/she wants after a redundant thread on the OT?

Tundras look the best.
