German shepherd. Smart, loyal, protective, and always there - and I mean always. If you don't want a dog by your side every step you take, a GSD is not for you. They don't know personal space.

I will never not own a Lab.
Our Lab developed bad skin allergies, and this seems to be getting more common.

If you have a Lab, does it have skin allergies?

If so, how often does the dog swim?

Mini-Schnauzers. They don’t shed, they don’t have bad habits and are easily trained, very smart. What I love most about them, they adapt so easily to my wellness. If I want to go on a miles long walk, they are up for it. If I am ill, they will stay close to me.

Ive had 3 dogs and the mini-schnauzer was by far the oddest. He was always sickly though and didn’t live a full life so who knows.

The shih tzu mix was probably the sweetest. Very chill dog that loved people.

The Yorkie was a total dick but he was probably my favorite. He was standoff-ish but insisted on being your best friend if you were his person. Smart dog too.

Rescue Border Collie, super smart and was used to help kids who were bit by dogs to overcome their dog fear

Aussie was the most functional - super protective, fearless venomous snake killer

Australian Cattle dog, AKA Blue Heeler/Red Heeler.

Got my first one as a late teen when someone dumped one off near our family farm. Had nothing but labs before that and that dog made me fall in love with the ACD breed. She was the sweetest and smartest dog ever. When we had to put her down in 2008, it was rough. I would not have another dog after her until I bought my current place.

Now I two heelers at the house and nothing makes me happier than coming home to those two.
