Pitt Bull by far.
Most sensitive loyal good dog and I’ve rescued many. Had seven dogs of all types and found homes for all but I kept the pit. We got him a cat and a puppy to play with. He is now 13 and still plays like a pup

Lots of pure breeds early in life
Since the 70's tho, pretty much exclusively rescues.
As an American, hard to beat a mutt.

Right now I have my first dog in 30 years... a Rottweiler Pup... What a freaking handful.... But he's smart as a whip and tries real hard to do good...
But also can be real stubborn if he doesn't want to do something.

My favorite breed and I have owned several of them...
Generally smart, loyal and tenacious but can be goofy and stubborn (see tenacious..)
But as you said they need to be around people and will wreck stuff if left alone too long... (Separation anxiety is a real thing with Huskies..) While known for their sled dog acumen.. what most people don't know is this breed was originally bred to be warm companions to kids by the northern nomadic tribes so their need to be around people can be quite profound..

Boxers. We bred them when I was young.
Really good-natured dogs, very gentle and tolerant of kids grabbing at them; but they could also handle their business if they needed to. And very protective of their people/family.

Rottweiler or Bassett Hound.

German Shepherd (have 2) or Great Dane (had 3). Close call for me.

Mine too. Great dog if you know how to handle them.

German Shepherd, great dog except for the shedding .
Golden Doodle, Great dog .
Havanese, First small dog I’ve ever owned. Cute as a button .

Border collie was lovingly great, but I felt sorry for her being in such a hot environment. Loved my Jack R, miss her. had a papalyon? that was great also. Won't get another unless I get a terminal diagnosis....ain't outliving another.
