The other side of the coin, though, is that maybe it's good to remember that just about every one of us will say something that comes across as really stupid from time to time. Sometimes you have to keep a cool head and give people a pass on that shite.

Don't be afraid to seek out advice from people who have been there before when attempting to do something you have never done. My career would be about 5-7 years ahead of where it is now if I had asked for some very basic advice when coming out of college. Very simple mistakes early in life can turn in to huge ones later.
