I have some guys working at the house and I overheard one of the guys talking about how the last solar eclipse was one of the most eerie things he has ever seen in real life. The other guy started laughing and said "dude, I take it you have never sat through the eye of a major hurricane.. now that is some eerie shite"

So it got me thinking... what's more eerie to witness in real life?

Eye of a major hurricane. If you’re in the eye then you’ve gone through the eye wall and you’re probably surrounded by devastation.

To look at, The Solar Eclipse. It's eerie to be in darkness when it is not supposed to be. But Physically, the eye of a hurricane. It's not light. It damaging winds and weather. And it completely stops. But then you know what's on the other side of that eye. So it might not have the physical darkness eeriness to it, physically it's gotta ring your nerves a lot worse.

Zeta was posthumously upgraded to a major and I was in the eye.

Wind picked up and then stopped, and I didn't get the back end.

Especially if you are away from other people, def the eclipse.
Colors and lighting seems “off,” and wild animals act strangely and noisily.

Eye of a hurricane? The only thing odd about it is the normancy within the tempest.

The absolute silence after the power and electricity went out about two before an F4 tornado wiped out the hotel I was staying in:

First rain. Then a brief period of absolute stillness. Then a high-pitched screaming sound, then sideways rain pelting the window, then that "train" sound people describe. The silent period was eerie. The foreground is all a hotel courtyard, and I was in one of the bottom floor rooms above.

What about a solar eclipse that occurs while you are in the eye of a major hurricane?

Its still pretty damn cool. Riding out hurricanes is fun, it's the week after where you are on generator electricity that gets kinda annoying.

Not the worst thing ever but prolly worth going on a week vacation instead.

That's my point you dumbass. So, let me put this in 6 year old analogy for you..

Guy 1 says that a solar eclipse is the most eerie thing he has ever seen before in his entire life

Guy 2 called him out and basically called him a fricking idiot in a nice way

Guy 1 felt dumb as frick for saying that

Why would he feel dumb?

Maybe a solar eclipse was the most eerie thing for one person and not for a different person?

You can't disprove one person's opinion of what is "most eerie"

Leaving your house heading into work when your house is in the path of a category 4-5 hurricane is eerie.

The neighborhood is too quiet because everyone evacuated and you’re one of the last ones to leave. The storm throws out major outflow which bring a haze to the sky. Even the birds know to gtfo. It’s muggy, it’s eerie. I never want to go through that again
