I asked Grok about the demographic breakdown at LSU and it listed it by race (that graduated with a degree in 2023):
White: 66.4%
African American: 12.8% Hispanic/Asian/Other: 20.8%
White students were 67% of the incoming freshmen classes in 2018 and 2019.

It appears demos stay the same within a 4 year class despite what people say about holistic students dropping out.

Hell, I might have had a better shot with the ladies back in college if there were almost 2 of them for every guy

100% sure those are not students, just passing through...

I am sure many of those males are going in the construction management like degree they offer. If they still offer it (I don't think its called CM there, its more technical based if I recall),
But if you pay for ChatGPT plus... $25 a month, you can use that to create a syllabus for any subject and then have it teach you so much of it each day. If I was running a company and needed people do a certain job that requires knowing certain things, you can hire people straight out of HS who will be getting on site training and if there are certain things they need to know.. Lets say Calculus.
Ask ChatGPT to create a syllabus and an exam.. Then I don't know, tell them that they have 1 year on the job then they will take the exam and those who make above a certain grade will be hired.. That's just an example, but why go to school for 4 years, with the first two years spent having to take some bullshite classes when there are resources for people to learn it without having to pay for college.

One more data point to consider:
Total graduation rate through 2024 by race/ethnicity freshmen of 2014 vs freshmen of 2018
Asian 73.4% / 74.6%
White 71.8% / 72.2%
Hispanic 65.7% / 61.8%
Two or More Races 66.4% / 59.6%
Black 56.2% / 57.5%
Total Graduation Rate by freshman class year
Class of 2014 = 69.4%
Class of 2015 = 68.9%
Class of 2016 = 69.7%
Class of 2017 = 70.8%
Class of 2018 = 68.6%
Note that freshman class of 2018 was the first year that White student % dropped significantly from 73.0% in 2017 to 67.1% in 2018.
Bottom line is that to keep the total graduation rate steady while brining in more students that are less likely to graduate, you will have to bring in better students at the top that will graduate at a higher percentage to offset the lower graduation rate of the weaker students. The recent stats show that may be the case, but time will tell.

Probably not gonna happen. Tons of schools are test optional now & I don’t see LSU reversing course and risking losing students to this.
they need to lose students, especially these kinds of students. Its hurting the academic rankings and the culture at the school. Its not even a black or white thing for me...but as of now, LSU is 27% black in the last class if i remember correctly....~40% transfer or drop out within first 2 semesters. that is an issue even if you remove culture issues
the 2 students that fault should be identified and the aggressor charged and expelled immediately. possibly both depending on what happened determined by the investigation.

I mean, for safer, La. Tech is absolutely safer. Is it better? I'd say it depends on what you want to study. ULL and Se La are also safer. But better may be subjective, again - certain majors will be better; others won't. The best bet is to send them out of LA if it's affordable.

Yeah! I've been an LSU fan for over 60 years, even though I live out of state. My grand daughter was trying to decide where to attend college. Knowing I was a fan, she mentioned LSU.
I squelched that Idea.

Here’s the good news. These two thugettes will soon have degrees and will probably get hr jobs where they can choose to fire you because they be disrepkted. What a wonderful future we all have.
