We got a big decree from high and mighty potentate parish president here in Washington parish. It mentions that “all the mayors agree” to a curfew. The police dept here shared it on social media, with emoji fingers pointing toward the curfew from all directions. Who the hell is gonna wander about in a hurricane? Then the curfew seems to extend well past the storm clearing. Just seems like an over-reaction by a bunch of local yocal cops who want to club people for no reason. Guess we will see how it goes.

Government takes all the power we give them…they just munch it up.

Get on social media and tell them…for the better good of the population we will not hold to the decree and you can go frick yourself…

If all there needs to be for them to gobble up power is an emergency, then everything will be considered an emergency.

I would just ignore it but normally wouldn’t be out in it anyway.

Have you not been through a hurricane? There are all levels of morons who get out in the worst weather. The intent of the curfew is to try to keep as many of them off the streets so the first responders don't have to try to rescue them instead of the people who sheltered but need help.

curfews are for after he storm has passed, and assuming a power outage, there's no reason to be out if nothing's open and there are no lights, kind of like "only steers and queers are out past..." meaning if someone is out during a blackout they're probably up to no good

Curfew, another name for house arrest. Tried, convicted and sentenced without even breaking the law. Government's way of controlling because the
current criminal justice system isn't working. More freedom lost.

This is freaking America. If I wanna go out in a ‘cane, I’m going out in a ‘cane.

If something happens to me, I’m on my own. The true American Way. I don’t need daddy government to legislate my common sense.

I want to be a fan of them, but their effectiveness depends on quality leadership which many locations do not have. We had a curfew for 2" of snow when I was in MS and that ruined them for me.

They can decree all they want. If I need or want to leave my home I will. Otherwise I will choose to stay home. Same as I did during COVID.

They have a time and place during events like a hurricane. I’m in favor for property protection but they definitely need to have limited use and duration limits.

Generally, the curfew was more about keeping looters and thieves as the only ones out and about, so they’re easier to pick off

I ignore them. If I have a good reason to be out I'm going.

Don’t agree with them.

It’s like i have said before, im perfectly ok with anyone that wants to explore, try new things, and go places

At the same time, i also believe that you knew going out in the hurricane was not a good idea and is dangerous but you chose to do it so until it’s safe, no one is coming to get you. You are on your own so buckle up cause you gonna have to ride it out and survive

I think it’s mostly for the looters and to lock down on that.

What would happen if you leave after curfew and are out in the streets? Will you get arrested?
