Seems like 40-45K would be solid for a low level major like that in a poor economy area such as Louisiana

You got downvoted but you are correct. The 55-65 people are full of shite. I am a CPA that has done hundreds of benefit plan audits so I see the range. For the most part this board over estimates every single profession

Well, considering that's not the case, I don't see the point you're trying to make. Perhaps you can show me where I advocating changing jobs every 8 months.
I advocate it. In todays times, move anytime more money is offered.

I've been doing this since there was no such thing as a project manager. The Superintendent ran the job and normally handled most everything except estimating and change orders. And the schedule was kept on a big USG or Owens-Corning or whatever other calendar the salesman left in the jobshack.

And the architect could actually draw and provide detailed documents and usable specifications and everyone involved had at least swung a hammer or owned a tape measure.

It is all disposable today, architecture, construction and yes personnel.

And the one that posted that "his projects always come in under budget" READ: Low Bidder.

That's a terrible idea. I took a pay cut to change jobs about 20 months ago. To really plan your future you can't be so nearsighted. I want to use my brain, and expand my capabilities...not just collect a paycheck for breathing.

I am referring to the fact that from my vantage point, companies do not honor loyalty these days. The new guy in the same position makes more money then the 15 yr vet.

Okay, it doesn't sound to complicated. I was wondering after a small event I attended, some guy offered me that position solely because I knew the ins and outs of worker comp and GL audits. But hell, seeing how some guy in here pays his guys 150k, maybe I should have talked to him.

This is true. I've worked for the same company for almost 11 years now. About 3 years ago they hired a guy for the same level position as me with ALOT less field experience (he has a degree - I don't) and he started out making $5k more a year than I was.

Man, I started at 45k in 2002 out of LSU's CM dept. Just depends on where you go and who you work for. Have to get to a large market and make it happen. Surely a sharp guy/girl fresh out of school with some experience will be in the +/- $50k range.

That chart someone posted earlier is pretty damn close id say. In my 10th year I was on the low end of the high range in ATL.
