About the time the British paid off their WW1 debt to America, WW2 broke out and completely devastated them. They didn't finalize paying off their WW2 debts to us until this century, I believe (as well as giving us a huge portion of their gold reserves which sit in Ft. Knox to this day).

We didn’t join WWII to save the Jews like a lot of people think.

A large portion of Americans were sympathetic to Hitlers beliefs on Jews and FDR turned back ships of Jewish refugees fleeing Germany because we didn’t want them here.

The UK and U.S. after the war appeased the Zionist movement to create a nation of Israel for Jews to have their own ethnic state to go to because the quiet part was nobody in Europe or the U.S. wanted them either

Bretton Woods, a conference after WWII which made the dollar the world's reserve currency was negotiated (and led) by Treasury Department official Harry Dexter White (Anglicized name as he was a Lithuanian Jew). It was later learned White was a Soviet agent.

It's not clear whether his Bretton Woods actions had any Soviet influence or how putting America in such a strong position helped the Soviets. But it's clear White was passing the Soviets information (this was found through intercepts that were top-secret for decades, but it was suspected independently of those intercepts already).

Edit: I should also add that White was the chief architect of the Morgenthau plan which was a post-war plan to basically destroy Germany permanently. The plan included shipping millions of Germans to labor camps. Estimates at the time suggested, if implemented, the plan would kill 25 million Germans from starvation. This would perfectly align with Soviet interests.

The USA should have stayed completely out of the First World War. America had no good reason to help the Allies defeat the Kaiser.

Yeah very odd how Germany was what, 60 miles from Paris when 1 ended? Have always been so stuck on 2, that I failed to know how Germany lost that war…only screwed myself there. No Eastern front either if I remember right.

If you believe this, you probably believe in the the tooth fairy.

Knew Dee Huddleston personally and he was the last person from POTUS / SCOTUS / Congress to officially set foot in Fort Knox (I think it was back in the 1970's when he was still in office).

Between the 1850's and 1950's one of the most powerful companies you never heard of was the old L&N railroad. Louisville had one of the largest scrap business in the USA, one of the largest Navy operations not next to deep water, one of the oldest privately held munitions companies in the USA, and Fort Knox all in close distance to the L&N headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky.

Since 1980 ...

The scrapyard is gone
Not sure how big naval ordinance is now but guessing MUCH smaller
Oldest private munitions company was acquired by a private firm up East between 1980 and 2010 maybe?
Gold bank building in downtown Lexington not longer has that munitions firm as a tenant with no signage the whole time they were there.
Fort Knox had the largest armor base in the USA (between 25K and 50K soldiers a peak - surrounding Fort Knox vault
L&N is long gone (they got acquired by CSX, who also owned The Greenbriar in West Virginia, and the emergency US Capitol in the event of nuclear war)

With Fort Knox now reduced to just 500 to 1,000 active duty (and none of it armor), my best guess is any gold that used to be there till the 1970's oil shocks is LONG GONE.

Something else to chew on, Kentucky has the only governor assassinated in office. It was broad daylight, in full view of spectators, and a whole host of unusual "things" that would make The Godfather executions scenes pale in comparison. The L&N did this but nobody was ever prosecuted or kept in jail even tho everybody knew the L&N was responsible. The old L&N refused to allow the body to travel on their lines so Governor Gobel had to be shipped to Louisville, then upriver by boat to Cincinnati, then back down by wagon to get him to his funeral and burial.

The West only grew in population due to the massive irrigation projects by the Army Corps of Engineers. If not for that , the West remains a desert uninhabitable wilderness

Pretty sure this started before World War I

The shift from gold / silver and paper currency (used to be your dollar stated that it was good for so much gold right on the bill, and silver certificates (looked like US currency but with some blue ink that did the same for silver printed on the currency). As oil grew as a strategic currency and we went off the gold and silver standards, the US dollar became the monopoly currency for "petroleum" dollars from the end of World War II till at least the 1980 election. Even as recent as a decade ago its was the monopoly global currency to trade oil. Now, with the unlimited printing of money and our growing debt, pretty sure this is no longer a monopoly.

For the "gold bugs" out there, silver has more industrial and commercial use than gold, and a WHOLE lot cheaper. My guess, "gold bugs" might lose in a collapse that "silver bugs" may weather better. Besides easier to pay for say goods at the grocery with silver that gold for day to day purchases.

In the earliest days of the USA, Georgia had real gold the way California would much later.

Kentucky had "maybe" silver, that "maybe" came from fake mines to pay for the Revolution and early US expenses. That is a whole different story that may never be proved but I was told of it as a wee lad by my grandparents and great grandparents

California had the Gold Rush
South Dakota and other states had the later Silver Rushes

Look at how most of the states West of the Mississippi were carved out as we went West. It had little to do with CoE and more too do with human greed and mineral rights.

US intervention into the war made the difference. The Kaiser would not have been defeated if the US Army had never set foot on the Western Front in France.

The Deep State has been in charge since November 1963.

And it doesn’t like when people try to disrupt that power.

You might want to put "Trail of Tears" on your bucket list before you die. Luckily lots of it is paved now and you can ride in an air conditioned car. Been on foot on some of the parts in Georgia and Tennessee and can tell you firsthand, you have no idea what crap is coming out of your mouth now.

America is a collection of "Peoples" to create "We the People" and my guess is you would not lasted 5 mins back then when life really was tough. You really want to help this country today?

Start by calling out anybody who tries to divide it, be they on your side or the other.

Then start with yourself in ways to unite us (warts and all) as "The People" and hope to God we kick the few loudmouths in the arse on their way out the door before this country is lost forever.

So your idea of “uniting” us is to segregate a population of natives onto poverty stricken rural ghettos?

The reservation system was and is a horrible idea.
