No, if I were really smart I would follow my old mans advice from the Great Depression and World Wars
Once you graduate high school, next two years you give to your country (pick one)
a) military service
b) peace corp
c) Merica corp (like the peace corp but inside the US not outside)
Bring back the two W's from the Great Depression (???) and WPA and make them permanent. My old man was a die hard old guard Republican and he gave FDR full praise for those two concepts. Said the worst thing the USA did was cancel them after WWII (where he and all my uncles served)

I actually have to laugh as now (being sovereign land) the modern natives are making $$$ with casinos, duty free smokes, and other assorted gigs than have put some dimes in their pockets by turning lemons to lemonade. Serves us right, but I might join a tribe to get in on some of that action today. I would start with what the Squamish tribe is doing in Canada.

Are they really the best if they break down constantly and are impossible to fix? American and Russian tanks (and all other armored, or engine-driven vehicles) were much more reliable and made simpler so when and if they broke down they could be fixed easily.

Yes, but as I pointed out yesterday, the only reason the Soviets could mass produce those tanks was because of the rolled steel supplied to them by the US. 80% of the rolled steel the Soviets used in WWII came from the US. The Soviets lacked the ability to mass produce rolled steel, which is required for armor. You can’t make tanks out of regular structural steel. It lacks the strength to stop anti-tank rounds. You have to use rolled steel when producing tanks. If it wasn’t for the rolled steel supplied via Lend Lease by the US, Soviet tank production would have collapsed.

While I don't want to speak for him what he probably means by that the South didn't want the North to dictate what they could and couldn't do. They viewed it as having a king again.
It wasn't necessarily about slavery but that just happened to be the issue. Not every southerner had slaves.
Lincoln is on record saying that if he could unite the country without freeing slaves he would.....if he could unite the country and free some slaves he would.....if he could unite the country and free all the slaves he would.

Start by calling out anybody who tries to divide it, be they on your side or the other.
Then start with yourself in ways to unite us (warts and all) as "The People" and hope to God we kick the few loudmouths in the arse on their way out the door before this country is lost forever.

the problem with this is that the Soviets would have rolled all the way through Europe. unless you're saying we should have never supplied them either
