Today is day #79 of sobriety.

Prior to taking my life back I drank literally every day for as long as I can remember (10+ years for sure) Never wasted/blackout drunk, but nicely pickled. Vodka was my drug of choice, lots of it.

Alcohol never got in the way of my family or work. I was a well disciplined functioning alcoholic. Wasn't one of these people who needed to sip through the day to keep the edge off, only rarely drank before 5 pm (Those time were on vacation and such) and rarely stayed out drinking past 10 or 11 on a rare occasion.

Some might say what's the problem? And it is something I asked or told myself often over the past 2 or 3 years when I would think about quitting. Then it hit me, I'm an alcoholic and that's the addiction telling me it's ok, your not causing any problems with drinking. You're not like those other "alcoholics".

When I finally realized or admitted that to myself it became clear that it was hurting me. I've lost 35 lbs in these last 11 weeks, I sleep better I feel better, more alert and I just generally feel healthier, physically mentally and everything.

I read on here a lot people will post, just have a drink or two once a week and don't worry about it. You can have a drink or wine with dinner, you don't have to get all dramatic and quit. No some of us do have to quit because we know that a glass of wine once a week at dinner will soon be a 1.75L bottle of vodka about every 3 or 4 days and we'll convince ourselves it's ok, we're not like them. I know this because I can hear that old voice lying to me from time to time still.

Anyway

TL/DR

My mind is blown that I finally quit drinking.

Nope. I was going by capacity. Thought that was obvious.

Forgive me if you’re kidding but, NASCAR tracks hold 250,000. Indianapolis motor speedway can hold 400,000.

When Elizabeth Taylor played Cleopatra, Elizabeth was closer in time to Cleopatra than Cleopatra was to when the pyramids were built.

I've never watched NASCAR. But I googled and there are multiple articles about largest stadiums. None mention NASCAR. I guess they aren't considered stadiums.

In the list of "Largest Stadiums", racetracks, automotive or otherwise, are not included as "Stadiums".

The largest "Sports Venues" include racetracks. Indy is considered the largest with a capacity of 257,325. There are no NASCAR tracks on that list above 200k. The largest being Texas Motor Speedway at #5 with a capacity of 181,655.

The Top 10 largest Sports Venues are:
Indy 257,325
Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans) 234,800
Tokyo Racecourse (Horse racing track) 223,000
Shanghai International Circuit 200,000

Nakayama Racecourse (Horse racing track) 165,676
Istanbul Park 155,000

Yep. A circle with a 1 foot diameter will have the circumference of pi.

You were close. I think it is two. Isn’t there a light in Batchelor by the ag co-op? And another light in Moreauville at 1 and Couvillion?

As for the comment on Simmesport, I think that light is a blinking yellow these days.

Until I came on TD I didn't even know that glorious peak existed. Someday I am going to pack my 8,000-meter suit, double boots, crampons, ice axe, oxygen mask and a couple of cylinders of Os and take on that expedition. It may be just what I need on my mountaineering CV to finally get a President's Gold Medal from the American Alpine Club.

That is some good shite right there.
