re: Austin Chalk Updates? - Devenbaker
I looked at SONRIS, and I saw the production on one of the Conoco wells was 60 barrels a day. I was expecting closer to 1000 a day. I am guessing the well is still being developed? Going to be hard to recoup those drilling costs on 60 barrels a day....

Austin Chalk Updates? - Devenbaker
Anyone know how the development is going in the Austin Chalk? I know Conoco has been drilling that one well for quite some time and I believe filed a permit for an additional well. I had Marathon was making some infrastructure investments about 18 months ago, but otherwise it has been quiet. Anyone ...

re: Anyone here use Blooom to manage 401k? - Devenbaker
Blooom use to be a sponsor on the Stacking Benjamin’s podcast, and I was curious if folks had good results. The idea of it was appealing to me. I hope a few users can chime in with their thoughts....

re: Dave Schultz leaving 103.7 the game - Devenbaker
I am not in Lafayette often these days, but I would occasionally listen to his show. He was the best in Lafayette. No idea what the quality is of espn radio there these days, but it was pretty rough about 8 years ago when I listened frequently. I remember listening to Jay-Bird and thinking my radio ...

re: Most remote locale in LA (looking for recent post - Devenbaker
I will cast a vote for Larto. Been all over the state, and had no idea how rural that area is until a few years ago. Hell, you can’t even get by highway 3102 for weeks at a time due to high water. ...

re: Do people still plan on retiring at 65? - Devenbaker
I believe one point to consider is whether you will have an employer who wants you around past 65. Many large companies are offering early retirement packages to folks in their mid 50s and above to cut costs (those individuals being the highest paid). These packages are generous, but will not allow ...

re: Anyone used this method to unclog outdoor drain pipe? - Devenbaker
Be careful using a snake. As someone else said, can grab a root and tear up some pipe. Happened to me. The backwash pressure washer attachment works well, and my dad has used the expanding bladder others have posted....

The Standard is the way to go. Packed with LSU fans and they do a good job on audio. Food was decent, bartenders are nice. Get there early to get a table or call ahead to see about reserving a table....

re: Doe's Eat Place? - Devenbaker
I go every now and again for lunch. Thy serve my favorite burger in town. I like the steaks and enjoy the atmosphere. To the poster commenting that their $130 would go further at home, I think that is a bit unfair when judging a restaurant. They do have overhead and well, they need to pay people...

Best Seafood Salad in Baton Rouge - Devenbaker
Can anyone suggest a place that has a good seafood salad? Looking for a bed of lettuce with crab meat, crawfish tails, and shrimp. Have had Parrains salad with shrimp and Stroube’s seafood salad (like a chicken salad but with shrimp and crab), but neither are what I am looking for. Thank you....

re: Begging around Baton Rouge - Devenbaker
It looks like the new shanty town has been set up under the awning of the closed down subway near the intersection of college and perkins. I assume the store closed because there is a load of old clothes, blankets, and general trash piled up under that awning. I have seen some folks sleeping in ther...
