The WSJ did an article on tow truck violence in Toronto recently. Apparently the business is run by gangs with gun and drug running involved. I suspect that is also a factor in Chicago. It isn’t just about tows.
Getting conflicting reports on this. Any news?

re: Best beach chairs?

The concern I would have for the Tommy Bahama chairs is they sit very low to the ground. It may be hard for a 70 year old to get out of that chair.
Guy shows up the first day for federal jury duty. He Tells the judge that he can’t serve because he has work. Judge thanked him for coming in and gave him speech on importance of jury duty and statedthe gentlemen needed to show up tomorrow for the second day of jury selection. The guy had an attitude with the judge about coming back.

Day 2 and the guy no shows. Judge issues a warrant and sends US marshal to his work. They bring the guy in later that morning. Judge puts him in a holding cell for the day. Around 4:00 the judge brings the guy into the court room and tells him he will be part of the next jury pool and to be sure not to miss.

I am hoping this is a joke about the outburst he had with Condon.
I saw a tech working on an ATM the other day, and there was an armed guard standing behind him just eying the area. I figured that would be standard.

UClub is out there but there is a large development coming that will provide more options.

CCLA has an Alexander’s nearby.
Eye Medical has a solid group, that includes specialists if need be. As others mentioned, they are in the building attached to OLOL.
I believe this article is a bit dated (looks like June 2022). At the time of the article I believe natural gas prices were up quite a bit. With that said, we have seen prices come down this past year.
There is a documentary called Happy People - A Year in Tiaga. It is about the people live in Siberia. It was pretty interesting and provided some insight on how they survive. I remember a scene where someone running for political office visited the area, and how unusual that was for them since they were so rural and didn’t have many voters.
Blanchard’s quality car care in Galvez is what you want. Mitch Blanchard is great mechanic that does good, honest work. He specializes in Toyota and Lexus.
I’m just here to bump this thread. Not sure if this has been brought up recently or not. I enjoy listening to Russ and the subsequent beating he has taken on the air after every LSU win.

I went last week. Food was good, but was served on a paper plate.
That is crazy that they have people in the water on the live cam. I have seen them get knocked hard a few times.

Smoke Coming from bluebonnet somewhere between Burbank and Nicholson. Still seeing Smoke, which to me would be odd if an auto accident. I also heard a boom from a ways away.
I enjoy Richard in small doses. I was hopeful he would be slightly different on the postgame show, but I was wrong. It wasn’t a good fit, and am glad they are moving on from that experiment.

Does Hanny come on ESPn radio besides some visits to Ott’s show? I never listen to Ott because of the time slot.
I drive by this place frequently. The facilities look absolutely nothing like the drawings. It is only one story, long cement slab was poured, and a big metal awning was built over it. The old building is still there that was built 10’ off the ground because that area floods.

Could have some potential if it is affordable, but it will be no where as nice as TopGolf.

Actually negotiate the best deal(discount) with them doing financing after you let them know you could pay cash. Accept the finance and discount and then at the 30 day mark pay off the whole balance. You probably save $1000-1500 on the price and only burn a $100 or so on the interest for the one month. I know this used to work and I presume it still does.

I am not sure this works as there is little to no negotiation on a lot of vehicles. Most sought after vehicles it is sticker price or sticker plus market increase fee. So I suppose that is a negotiation point is that markup fee. Helped a family member buy a car this year and the markup fee varied from 0 to $6000, and absolutely no one was going under sticker.

With that said, the approach you mentioned was applicable before. And yes - always get pre approved before going into the dealership.

$1400 for family of 3 is high. What stores do you shop at (Whole Foods vs Albertsons)? Do you buy your proteins on sale? Maybe do some meal planning around the proteins on sale that week?

You can still eat healthy and meet your caloric goals for under $1400 with a small amount of planning.
Excellent publication. Only paper I read.
Barnes and Noble use to sell the WSJ - behind the checkout counter.

Yes, you can get wsj delivered to house 6 days a week. They run some good deals - like $12 a month.
