What would you buy used vs new?

Buying some furniture / TV and the discounts on marketplace is so high.
A gently used 75 inch TV is $500 vs new for 1k. Dining tables for $700 vs new of 2k
What are the best used bang for the buck?

2K dining tables are trash. Anything nice these days is way more expensive.

clothes, furniture, electronics, and housewares - always buy these new
cars/trucks - never buy new unless you like being an idiot. always buy them used and preferably with right around 100k on the odometers but no more that 150k and they will last you another 10 years

I made my own kitchen table, coffee table, end tables, and entertainment system cause most stuff reasonably priced is trash nowadays. Farmhouse style (which is what we wanted anyway and came out great)
Picked up a one year old matching couch and recliner off marketplace in excellent shape for about 1/4 the new price.
I'm a cheap bastard though, lol and I really just don't like paying for crap quality.

If it has a motor/engine and moving parts, I will not buy it used. I have no clue what the dumbass before me did to use it or abuse it. I'll bite the bullet, buy new and maintain it until it falls apart. Then rinse and repeat.

Depends. I bought a used echo chainsaw that was basically brand new for about 1/3 off. I just check stuff like that out well. After years of maintaining my own and working on small motors I'm pretty good at fixing them if they aren't seized up.
I don't buy used underwear, socks, etc.
I'll consider most other things, lol.

It's disassembled and in my attic now.

Any depreciating asset is best to buy used.
