Lets say one could work in Covington, Gonzales, or Denham. Pretty much the cream of the crop of places to live in Louisiana. What would it take?

Currently I can drive to Phoenix in 5 hours, be at a ski resort in 2, Denver in 8, San Diego in 9. Pretty much any cool place in the West, is a driveable weekend trip away.

The idea of moving back seems fun. But I know once football season is over, the hot muggy arse season from April to October will suck

I grew up near Gonzales, it ain’t all that.

I’ve been thinking about leaving the state for a couple years. However, how much I want to stay would depend on where I’m going. Most places would take a ton of money. Some places would just require a job paying a similar amount.

I’m pretty comfortable here, but there are many places that I would embrace the chance to move to.

All three of those places you named suck.

But Louisiana sucks in general. Very few redeeming qualities about the place.

I’ve been everywhere. Louisiana, to me, is the greatest place on Earth.

Not only have I visited every state, I’m been to newly every one of the top 100 metro populations.

If I want something they have, I’ll vacation there. Every city has things that make it suck. Some self-loathing people go all-in on the first place they move to. Having been everywhere, I know that Louisiana lives in your soul. It’s a place you lay roots and feel apart of the community. It’s a true home.

Sadly, there is nothing that could convince me to move back to Baton Rouge.

It would start with better infrastructure, less litter, lower crime, more tech, a reality check on Louisiana housing prices... Government that can show it fixes shite and improves things for taxpayers.
