The engineers I've worked with from there have almost all been dumbasses.

I actually think he is a legit baw but he was talking shite that Saban was washed up a few weeks back. Paybacks are hell.

I actually like State. Solid school. Way better than Ole Pizz.

Large state public school. The difference between it and other regional schools is not worth paying any extra money. In general choosing a college undergraduate school is overrated.

I remember riding around in a truck with one who was going on at great length about how the people who'd designed the plant cooling system were dumbasses whose mistakes he was fixing.

I was thinking, hey, man, I'm a 20-year-old coop student from USM. You don't really need to impress me. We can just talk about football or women or something. But that's your typical State grad in my experience- basically Cameron from Ferris Bueller, but more "church people" .

When I was at State, an idiot could get into ole mess with a 14 on the ACT.
Spoken like a true dumbass that doesn’t know what he is talking about.

State has the same exact entrance requirements sweetheart. They’re both forced by the state of Mississippi to have the same entrance requirements as Jackson State and Mississippi Valley State. It’s a huge reason so many freshmen flunk out of Ole Miss in their first year. They make the basic courses fairly difficult

I agree, go wherever your cost is lowest and avoid debt at all costs. There was a time where I was disappointed and it bruised my ego that I went to two mediocre state schools but it worked out way better in the long run.

It’s a good school especially for engineering, agriculture and business. Can’t go off the US News rankings because due to court rulings all Mississippi schools have to have low ACT standards which negatively impacts the rankings. Now Starkville is boring as hell which is a good thing if you want the child focused on their education. I have 2 sons that are graduates.

If Gee Jr were wanting to attend a 4 year school I’d push him toward State over LSU. Having visited both campuses I can say without a doubt I’d feel better with my kid at state.

It has a few good programs like agriculture and meteorology. In fact, many meteorologists went to school there or Oklahoma I believe. Like all schools, there are very average programs and one or two very good, highly ranked programs. I do agree with others who say they’d rather their kid go there than LSU based on the safety concerns of baton rouge and the immediate LSU campus area.
