The state capital and LSU should still be here so I would think the Lakes area will still be decent.

The state Capitol building will have a giant mural of St. Floyd of Fentanyl painted on all sides.

70810 and 70808 are the 2nd and 3rd most wealthy zipcodes in the state behind Lakeview in NOLA. NBR may turn into Detroit, but the south of the parish will be fine for many years.

This.

LSU and the current (though diminishing) aversion of BR people to move outside the city to the AP or LP are the only things preventing it from being Jackson now!!

Kip as mayor was the last wall. Now the same useless bozos that take over places like Jackson, Birmingham, Memphis, etc have taken over…and the citizens don’t give a shite. SWB’s first term was marked by grift and skyrocketing crime. The result? She was soundly re-elected

Not sure, but there still won’t be a new bridge or a loop.

Most of America’s cities will be way worse in 10 years than they are now. IDK about 20 years.

I'll be late 50s by then.
I should start scoping out retirement spots.

It will look like a border town in Mexico.
The Latinos will outnumber the African American population. The whites will be out of BR and the African Americans will be the minority population and might be lucky to have two seats on the council.

This thread is depressing. Not just for Baton Rouge, but for all of America.

Once it falls to the Democrats, a city is doomed. The people who largely make up the Democratic party are ungovernable, and they like it that way. Brutal to say, but show me the exceptions.
