Fridays night were football games and bonfire parties. Every other Saturday was 4 wheeler mudding and the other I would let my G/f decide where we went to eat. I basically drank all weekend every weekend inclyding most Sundays my Jr and Sr year. I cant believe my fiancee put up with me. Stayed with her for 8 years. Those were the days. If Id had the common sense of a peanut, I'd married that girl long before she got tired of waiting.

LIved in Chas SC suburbs the first few years in mid 70's. Had lots of friends from school activities, sports and worked in a gas station in another HS district (Goose Creek) so I got to know all those baws / gals.

My airman workmate always had a duffel bag of good weed (Columbian Gold, Panama Red, etc.) they flew up. I sold ounces for $35 and I was quite popular. I also was 6'2 at 15 and could buy beer if I wore my uniform.

Friday nights were football games then the parties out at various boat ramps, parks. Street racing our hot rods. Taking chicks out to the field next to the airport. Or drive-in movies with a crowd - park in the back. Saturday night was sneaking beers watching my dad and his friends race at Summerville Speedway.

Then moved to Natchitoches Parish before senior year. Met a good group with jobs, money, a few hot cars. Friday nights were cruising the strip, hitting the two drive-thru daquiri / liquor stores, and meeting up in the Walmart parking lot (Walmart was like a Roses back then). Then we'd all decide where out in freakin country we'd meet up for a campfire and more shenanigans.

Now it's date night for the hot nurse and I. Still have a good time with friends in the bars and then out in the woods.

There was always a place planned to meet up and socialize, could have been on a dirt road somewhere.

Football in the fall, in the spring, probably at home the first three years. As a senior, riding around drinking beer.

Football game, camping ( really it was a little 1 room cabin with bunk beds and a fireplace), or road trip to Oxford.
Being the youngest sister (no pics) is 6 years older so no curfew just be home before the sun comes up.

My best friend had a kick arse house and parents who were rarely home. It was the de facto gathering spot. We’d usually all end up there doing whatever. Often end up making a late night Waffle House run. Had to open for my job at 8am Saturday morning. Would often end up back over there sleeping on the couch after noon when I got off.

Aimlessly riding around, drinking, going to a football or basketball game if there was one, looking for girls, looking for parties, more aimless riding around, more drinking, simultaneously looking for and avoiding fights, looking for something to do, more aimless driving around.

Remember the pool hall scene in the movie “Dazed & Confused?” That was pretty much every Friday & Saturday night in little Altoona, AL in the mid 1980s. Basically the same cast of characters and everything. If I had to compare myself to which one I was most like, it would be this guy…

His hair was a bit longer than mine…
