1st year I couldn't get a job. I worked in a warehouse job the entire year. I did have fun however. I lived in a house with 5 friends who were also recent grads. It was such a great time. 12/hr isn't much money. But with all the roommates, I payed only $250 a month for rent and bills. So with all that extra spending money I thought I was balling.
Next 2 years were grad school. I hated grad school. Terrible time. I was broke the entire time. I almost flunked out. But I did get married, so that's a bright spot.
First year out of grad school, my terrible interview skills really blossomed. It took me 9 months to get a job. I went on countless interviews. I lost count at 12. Pretty sure I'm the worst interviewer in the world.
So for my 5th year out of graduating. Im finally working in a job I enjoy, making the money I want. But the pandemic hit, and we all know how that goes..

In the following 3.5 years I graduated from grad school, tripled my salary, got married, and moved to New Orleans. So, it ended way better than it started

frickin train wreck. Prior US military in a team. Deployed for a year. Explosives. Etc. Etc.
Forensic Investigation major. FBI told me to frick off. Had to eat shite. Basically started over and began door to door sales to pay while in college. It worked out. Continued in sales and then understood what I was selling.
Got started in Energy. Haven’t looked back. It’s been phenomenal.

Like Charlie Daniels sang, "Thought I would die at 25...or Was it 26". 5 years out of college, with a company American Express and the oilfield rolling. Life was good!

Contrary to what you hear on here, there are some nice areas to live in New Orleans. I lived within walking distance to multiple very good restaurants, bars both high end and divey, a couple grocery stores, and parks. I lived there for over 4 years, and the most “serious” crime that affected me was that someone stole my bike once.
If my wife could get a well paying job in NO I would move there tomorrow.

Mine wasn't graduating from college, but completing my Tour of Duty in the US Army. Right after i got out, i got hired with The Boeing Company and have worked for them ever since 2008. It was a grind for sure. Transitioning from Soldier to Citizen is harder than it sounds. That and starting at the bottom of the company. In the end, it has all worked out for the best and i wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
That’s a great career. Congratulations!

Managed to squeeze 4 years of undergraduate into 6, then spent the next half-decade picking up another bachelors, masters, and JD degrees. Five years after undergraduate I was studying for the Bar.
Five years after that, I was working under an alphabet contractor, doing counter surveillance work for diplomats in Central America. And also developing a lifelong affinity for Bolivian marching powder.
