I stashed rolls everywhere... only I knew where the stashes were. I literally counted squares- no more "shittin mittens".

We never ran out, but the fear of it was real.

It's funny now, but it sure wasn't in the moment.

Didn’t affect me much at all. Before I ran out, the craziness was over. I didn’t have any women in my household, though!

I didn’t really experience anything major…but I rarely went to the store when I found every product in every brand that I was looking for. We are used to having several different brands of every product.

Some industries took advantage of the situation….automobiles spiked up in price due to the shortage. However there is no longer a shortage and they have never gone back down.

that's hilarious

Since this is a thread about toilet paper and pooping, I'm going to take this opportunity to use one my favorite and what I consider to be one of the funniest words in the english language....

Had to catch the car sales early in COVID. New car demand was very low because so many couldn’t work and were worried about money. Dealerships couldn’t give cars away. There were 0% interest deals being given out like candy through early 2020

The chip shortage and vehicle shortage when demand spiked up came a little later, started being really felt late 2020. Coincidentally enough it was the early low demand that kinda fed into the problem. Dealerships were cancelling orders like crazy because they thought the low demand would last a while, chip manufacturers were like eff it, we will shift our resources to producing chips for other products. Demand went up, not enough cars and not enough chips to fulfill the demand, and that’s when the prices spiked

My friend owns a Restaurant, she took a picture in front of a pallet of TP. Said to let her know when I needed more.
I also made a shopping list of items, gave it to her before noon, the next day after noontime, my order was filled. Gave her my credit card, she charged me $2.00

I was around for the first TP shortage in the early 70’s.

I’ve been around for the Sheetrock Shortage, .22 bullet shortage, the Gas Shortage. Want to create a shortage? Tell everyone, there is a shortage.

We had bought 6 Forever Rolls prior to the Covid run for TP and didn't have to buy again for a very long time.

We had reloaded at Costco about two weeks before things started getting nuts here. We’d been watching the news about COVID in China and
just had a feeling we needed to stock up.

All of a sudden TP and Lysol was gone from the local grocery. My son and I were at Home Depot and saw people running past our isle. They had just gotten a few pallets of TP. I sent him to grab one just to safe.

Bought a bidet toilet seat a few months before the literal shite hit the fan. I chuckled at the idiots with flatbed carts filled with nothing but TP.

Always remember this hilarious tweet

Paraphrasing…

“The police are outside, the dogs are barking. I have the last roll of toilet paper. This is how it ends. I am ready.”
