I got hit by one square in the back when I was 6. Left a bad bruise.

It was an approach shot, not a driver, but if it had hit my head, I’m sure it would’ve been a hospital trip.

Riding a dirt bike down an old farm road. Was looking behind me at my buddy who I was "racing". When I turned around I was about 6" away from smoking a giant concrete culvert at 60 mph. Instant death was near.

Got invited on a homemade sub to go look at Titanic. Fortunately, LSU was in the CWS so I turned it down

Motorcycle wipeout on a corner when it was raining. As I was sliding on the ground with my face about 2” inches from being hamburger. Didn’t have my helmet on that day but walked away with scratches.

Almost decapitated on snowmobile hauling arse across an old field at night. Caught a glimmer from the headlight from the single strand of barbed wire. Dove off just before the wire ripped the windshield and must have caught the handlebar and rolled it.

aviation student at la tech. practicing spins (which is illegal now, i believe). plane is suppposed to stall first then the instructor starts the spin. as a student i look up and recover. well, air was too dense and the plane didn’t stall first. we were at 3000 feet at beginning of the spin. recovered at less than 500 feet. we both grayed out as we both were pulling up out of the dive.

Had a bad accident driving a truck. Would have assuredly died had I been driving my car

When I was 21 after drinking all night, about 3 in the morning. I pulled out of an apartment complex, drunk, turned left, they guy who hit me, also drunk, hit my truck, driver side rear. Spun me out and I ended up in the ditch, hit me so hard, both rear tires were in the ditch, seperated from the truck. I was completely fricked up, so was he, I got a failure to yield ticket. Lucky I didn't die, lucky he didn't die, lucky didn't get a DWI.

At work, had a cable tied from a crawler crane to a barge. The bit on the barge broke loose and came flying about 2' from me. The cable snapped straight back towards the crane and passed about 2" from a rigger. Had that cable hit him, it would have cut him in half, had that bit hit me..... it would have taken my head off.

As a teen sunk a boat on Old River- not a life jacket on board! All of us wearing heavy clothes and hip boots. We clung to an ice chest and made our way to the shore. I always wear a life jacket now.

I had a suicidal guy come up (the wrong way) on an off-ramp in a pickup truck the wrong way intent on hitting the first substantial vehicle heading towards him.

Fortunately (only for me), I was in the less substantial vehicle, he avoided me and faced-up head-on into another pick-up right behind me, killing himself and the two folks in the other pick-up.

All that happened in less than 30 seconds.

I had two little kids at the time. Woulda been shitty.

About 1994-ish.

Transected aorta from a MVA. Less than 7% survival rate. What do I win?

Driving home from a friends at 1 in the morning and a kid threw a molotov cocktail at my car. Luckily it hit at the right angle and just chipped the windshield and blew up in the middle of the road. Turns out they had done this to three other cars that night. No one got hurt but it gave me nightmares for a while about what could of happened.

Size of a quarter with 2 layers ripped on the arch of the aorta. For some reason, it plopped on a back muscle and sealed. I have been told not too many surgeons see anyone survive what I had.
