LOL
I was at that place at that time of the morning once about 28 years ago. What did you experience that made you scared and want to leave.

1) Being in the Enron building during 9/11 watching planes flying past.
2) getting caught in a tornado driving thru Texarkana
3) being stuck in freeway during the Rita evacuation and having dudes walk past and look in my car windows (with baby in back seat) to see if I had anything worth jacking.

Pumping gas very late one night at 24 hr pumps after store closed and turned around to see several hooligans creeping up slowly towards my car. I was the only one around or so I thought. When they noticed me noticing them they started sprinting towards me. Threw the pump on the ground and jumped in, fired it up and stomped on the gas right as they converged from two different directions on the spot the car had been .005 seconds ago
That was almost 20 years ago. I am very cautious about getting gas at night and way more situationally aware since then

First week of June 1989 in Toronto. We just got there and drove over to a park on the lake to check out the views.
Suddenly to our right there is a crowd of about 100-150 Muslim looking fanatics moving towards us screaming and carrying pictures of the Ayotollah Khomeni. He had died that day.
We dont know if they were celebrating or pissed, but we got the hell out of there quick. Just made it before our exit was blocked.
I don’t really care for Iranians.

Don’t fear Iranians in general, just don’t like them. The story in question, 100-150 lunatic howling mob that looks like they probably have bombs strapped on? Yeah, I’m going to be a little nervous.

Stopped at a campground in Selma, AL returning from a family camping trip to the Smokies. This was back in the seventies. We got to the campground late in the afternoon, and it was pretty empty. The later it got, the creepier I felt. Finally told my mother and stepfather that I wasn’t comfortable spending the night there. They must have gotten some weird vibes too, because they did not tease or argue with me. Everyone packed up, and we were out of there in less than fifteen minutes. I think we ended up in a KOA for the night.

1982-83 in BR. Took my wife and 1-year old baby to Chinese Inn on Government St for dinner. Parked on the side and walked past a couple of black guys standing by the front door. As we walked by, one pulled a 38-revovler from a yellow plastic shoe store bag (maybe Shoe Town?), and handed it to the other. I pushed my wife through the door quickly.
I told the Maitre’d as he brought us to a table. He said that he understood. About a minute later, the 2 guys walked in. I waved to the Maitre’d and pointed them out. I could hear them asking if they could get change for a hundred dollar bill. Grabbed our child and told my wife that we were leaving. She didn’t argue. I think we had pizza that night.
I called the next morning and they said that nothing happened. But I wasn’t giving that scenario a chance to play out.

Week night super Wal Mart trip. Nobody in the store, hardly. Looking at the fishing gear and my three year old son leaves the field of vision. This never happens and I take off. Round the corner on the next isle and a dude is within three feet. Every hair on my body stood up and I ran up on dude very aggressive. He bolted. 20 years ago and seems like yesterday.

Worked a job in the Greenhouses at Brookwood Community, who sold to their Nurseries. I usually tended a few of the houses alone, often the other white workers were helping the teachers with the special needs adults, and since the rest spoke Spanish, I usually ate alone.
For whatever reason, I drove five miles down I10 to a picnic area and stopped and ate my lunch. This beat up car drives up just behind me (a little weird, like how you’re at a wall of empty urinals, and the next dude just comes right next to you. So I watch as the driver gets out of the car, walks over to the trash can, pulls the trash bag out, reaches in, and pulls out a second trash bag that was underneath.
Thankfully my car was running since it was 100 outside, so i fricking gunned it, cut off big rigs several times and didn’t look back.

Yeah some random dude in the middle of nowhere asking you this should have been the first sign. Definitely naive to the way of the world. Good for you as not many are.
Gay men are brazen SOBs, so now you kind of get what women go thru on the regular.

When I was 16 there was a Godfather's Pizza that we would go to. So me and my brother were sitting down to eat and we noticed 3 sets of guys all sitting in 3 corners of the restaurant and they were staring down some other guys who were in there. Both me and my brother looked at each other and I said, " Grab 2 pieces of Pizza and let's get the frick out" as soon as we saw the counter help start to leave.
We got out with about 30 seconds to spare as the guys in the corner convened on the guys two tables over from where we were sitting with guns drawn and a big ruckus. We had stumbled onto a huge drug bust and the place was filled with cops . Later learned that the cops were waiting on me and my brother and another 2 ladies to leave before making their move.
