Not truly a math class per se, but I had to apply the most math skills in Managerial Economics.

Back in the day I tutored for freshman chemistry and physics and found that while most people could "solve for x" if they started with an equation, they had never learned how to translate a word problem into an equation and so they never learned how useful basic algebra can be to real life. Let alone statistical analysis.

Its funny you say this, because in my time tutoring younger kids in math I've noticed the same thing. This is especially true among foreign-born children ironically. Kids are smart as a whip when it comes to everything else, but ask them to take a sentence in english and formulate a basic algebraic expression really stumped them.

It’s been so long, I know I took differential equations and linear algebra.

I’m thinking linear is after differential. Either way, the last one I took I can remember thinking... what. The. frick. Every single day. Thank god I didn’t have to go any further.

this thread is a classic case of posting sample bias

just like the "high ACT" threads, the people who took the highest maths are much more likely to post (from a general posting sample of being WAY more educated than the general population)

Honors Calc 1 for me

it's disgusting to me that real Calc isn't a requirement for all degrees.

Not sure which would be the highest, but it’s out of: Structural equation modeling, Multivariate Analysis, or Categorical statistical analysis.

Maybe I should have asked this as well - Do you believe there is a positive correlation between level of math taken and income?

Does taking Calc I 3 times count for anything, other than saying I was a dumbass for scheduling it at 7:30, twice?
