Hey BooDreaux. I knew a coke whore that hung out in there. The baws would argue about who had to take her home that night. Nobody wanted it again. She was also a Golden Girl in the mid to late 60's.
How did your gumbo cook-off go?
ETA: Rent was $200 in 1981. Electricity was about $20 a month. It is a crap area now so probably all section 8.

Me and my podna had a 2br 1ba rent house house on 3/4 acre. Our rent was $200 month. I paid the rent, he paid all the other bills. This was 1997-8.

The calculator says my $360/month in 1983 is $900/month now. That's close to what they're renting for now, but the apartments were brand new when I moved there. It was also designated as "Singles Only". Now you could move in a family of five or six people.

$ 510 after inflation according to link; Tiger Manor on State Street.
Would have been? more but I moved in w/ a friend who had lived there a while and they would "grandfather in" whatever rate the longest current resident was paying on their initial lease.
So basically you could change roommates over many years but your original rate would remain the same. If you left and too over the lease, they made the rate current.
Pretty cool deal honestly, idk if they still do it.
