Having things go so easy at the beginning. They got cocky and spread themselves thin. Also, Italy was a useless ally, they literally struggled beating africans with spears and bamboo shields.

What was Hitler’s worst blunder?
Bailing out Mussolini in Greece/Albania.
That delayed the beginning of Barbarossa by at least 4 weeks. 4 weeks more and they’d have been in Moscow before the brutal winter set in.

Hitler had a really bizarre affinity for Mussolini.

I honestly can't believe the thread went on as long as it did without this answer.

Hitler modeled a lot of the Nazi party after Mussolini's own fascist party.

Having Sessions and Bolton in his administration.
I agree Sessions was an inbred, but Bolton seems rather normal

Declaring war on the USA.
Agreed.

Before Pearl Harbor Hitler really wanted to get America involved in the war as an excuse to attack and spread to the states
Hitler desperately wanted to keep the United States out of the war. This only changed once Hitler became personally convinced that the United States was actively supporting the anti-German war effort and that the United States was preparing for military intervention anyway. He may well have been correct but he did fail to fully grasp the strength of the anti-war movement in the U.S. and the constraints this put on FDR to make any unilateral decisions regarding the war.

Not following his passion for art and joining the military.
Had be never joined the military he wouldn't have become so nationalist. He wouldn't have been given the assignment to inflate the precursor to the Nazis and take them over

It has to be not going all-in with Antartica. The Nazis had found something there. He should have just placed out the war until they could get a handle on the technology they were uncovering, and then used that to dominate the world.

Letting go of his potential art career so that he could go and become this evil homicidal dictator and war general.
But fr tho. This was a pretty cool thread. We got some true history buffs, and I learned quite a bit just from reading this thread. Made me feel like I know nothing
