are you suggesting that American culture as a whole isn’t significantly more political now than it was 10,15,20 years ago? That’s all in our heads?

A higher percentage of people spend more time focusing on politics now and reading about them online.

It's a huge business. If you shut off social media and walked into a restaurant and sat down for a meal you wouldn't notice a difference in 99% of situations.

Same goes for going to a ballgame or the park. Most of your political interactions come from the phone you keep on you connected to the internet as opposed to 20 years ago.

Growing up before the internet and social media, people had their political leanings but it wasn’t the first topic when you start a conversation.

Was at a dinner party this summer and my wife’s friend casually mentioned how hot it’s been. The host’s husband immediately went off on the climate change hoax and money grab. Like jeez dude, your life must be miserable. We all stood there nodding and trying to change the topic.

I watch plenty of sports and enough movies. Sports are not political.

I'd love to know what is political in video games? I'd guess in your mind being able to make a character that is a female that looks like a dude is political, yet being able to make a dwarf or an elf isn't.

I just see it as an option that I won't choose, but if someone wants to, why shouldn't they be able to

I'm sure you are able to find a way to make every single game or movie ever released political as well as Jayden Daniels heisman run.

When you approach things with a biased view you can see what you want.

I've seen someone do a 14 page writeup on how the matrix is secretly about how the Jews control Hollywood and that Keonu was almost killed for being in it.

Just because someone truly believed it enough to go through all the effort does not mean they were seeing something real.
