Both days you are talking about I felt relatively comfortable with the forecast and outcome. I think this is an issue that stretches through far more than weather.

And they nailed it last week with the severe weather.
I don’t think you understand how forecasting is or how it works. You’re just another slack jawed yokel mad at the weatherman for not getting it right 100% of the time.
So many threads complaining about meteorologists from people with no capacity for critical thinking but lots of capacity for criticizing things they don’t understand.

Serious question Slack, how’d they get the wind so wrong today? Forecast was for 75 MPH. That shite doesn’t happen unless of a tropical system or a really bad summer tstorm.

I didn't see a single forecast of any of that. Also, 75 knots and 75 mph aren't the same.

The potential for strong straightline winds was there, but no one was "predicting" widespread 75 mph winds. Clearly people don't understand probability.
Basically all of LA was in a hatched area that denotes a 10% chance for "significant severe" weather, which means either 65kt wind gusts, an EF2+ tornado, and/or 2"+ hail within 25 miles of any point in the hatched area.
If you think a 10% chance means "they were predicting 75 mph winds", you need to retake probability.

You can't see it most of the time, and there are so damned many things that influence it that it makes Black Holes seem really simple.
Here's a challenge for anybody who think meteorologists are stupid, or their job is easy. Start predicting the weather yourself. Do it for a months, and then check: a) how accurate were yours compared to the dumbest/smartest weather-person you know and b) how similar your predictions start to become to the dumbest/smartest weather-person you know.
If you're good at it, well consider a new career calling.

So why be so god damn dramatic about something you are unsure of?
They wanted people to be sitting in their tubs with helmets on. Think about that for a second. Dont you think you should be pretty damn sure about something before you recommend that?
