What the hell is up with the weatherman lately?

Getting everybody all worked up about this storm that was supposed to be deadly. We had moderate rain in New Orleans for about 45 min. Maybe 20 mph winds.
Businesses and schools closing today
News was telling people to wear helmets in their homes
Wtf gives? Why is every other field getting more advanced but weathermen seem to be getting worse?

weathermen gave low odds for something severe to happen and people/media ran with it for a day off of work

B) Because people are stupid
The actual NWS is constantly getting better.
TV mets and The Weather Channel are for entertainment purposes only these days.

Only job where you can be wrong and not catch flack. For instance: 50% rain chance and if you don't get any, well you just must have been in the 50% dry area!

Fits into the DNC political agenda of climate change. If we would have given Al Gore about 10 billion dollars twenty years ago to move away and shut up, it would have saved us billions upon billions and these lunatics would never know the difference.
